Coming from the Run Less Run Fast 'FIRST' method, I never thought I would change. However, my running times dictated that I try some things different this year.

Slowly but surely I am buying into the BarryP (run more, run slow) method (for example see below thread)

I am aiming for 200+ this month. I asked one of the adherents to this model to prescribe a monthly total that would be best for my last 3 months pre-IM. To paraphrase his answer, "the more the better". He said when you get to the IM mary, you want to say to yourself "Oh its just another mary...". I've never thought that way about the mary alone or as part of the IM but I am hoping I will...

I'm planning on a strong March, since there will be no training for 2-3 weeks in April.

ST (in lieu of swimming): 15 hours
Bike: 500 mi
Run: 110 mi
Stretching: 5 hours

I'm also going for an OA win at a 5 mi (foot) race on the 27th, regardless of who shows up. There, I said it.

So, changed my goals a bit throughout the month and worked really, really hard at running. I'm very happy with my overall volume and walked away with TWO overall run wins here in Iraq...

March Goals v. Actual

Bike: 2x per week8h 22m 44s  - 129.18 Mi
Run:  100 miles?17h 34m 04s  - 110.68 Mi
Swim: 1x per week3h 32m  - 10772.09 Yd

So, I did OK on the run, just behind on the bike and missed some swims. 

April will be bike-focused and a LOT of it or I will be the one crying by the side of the road like a baby (only in Knoxville and Wisconsin).
