Subject: Back to Trainig after months off due to injury After several months of injury and essentially no meaningful training, I am back at it. On December 18th I was in a major car crash resulting in back, neck and head injuries. And just last week I rolled my left foot over while running severely spraining ankle. I am healed up (except my ankle) and committed to starting the process again. Even though my fitness is down, I started today with an easy 28 mile bike ride (with my air cast on my ankle) and 1,000 yard swim. While early summer race results may not be as competitive as I would like, I am confident that my speed and ability to tolerate the physical and mental suffering will noticeably increase toward the end of the season. I have at least four things that will continue to motivate me to train and compete in Triathlon & the occasional Marathon: - My wife, family and friends support.
- I can hear now since I have hearing aids (which make me feel much younger).
- My three month old Trek Speed Concept 7 with barely 100 mile on it.
- The friendly dialog, support and advice I get on BT.
I am glad to be back and logging fitness again! ps: Oh, I forgot one part....... I shaved my legs, so I should be really fast now!!! Edited by MKAH 2011-04-23 12:00 AM
