Do NOT trust any bike deals coming out of Indonesia. For some bizarre reason, we are the hotbed of bike scams.

There was a very similar website that folks inquired about a few months back and it was confirmed that it was a scam. Unfortunately, there was at least one person that responded they had been a victim. As much as you want to believe it is real, it is not.

holy smokes, those are some good deals. I wonder if my LBS will price match

you truly believe you can buy a p4 frame for 1,245 from them?

 

oh chit what is even better is the p4 team issue with 1080 + sub 9 disc for $4000, the wheel setup alone is 2,500.

I just did a quick search on them and first, it seems extremely dodgy that their logo looks more like a stripper than a cyclist. Second, they do not accept any kind of credit card which means they are not recognized by any financial institution. Also, just google bike sales indonesia and you will see how crazy the scams are. It's like the Nigeria of bike scams.

I saw the stripper as well and said....... no thanks.

I got a road bike for the wife and a mountain bike for my daughter from bikes direct.  Great experience--got the bikes within 5 days, easy assembly, and quality bikes.  The groupsets alone are usually almost worth the cost of the bikes.

I live next to Jakarta, so I am going to go by and see if the place exist!

It doesn't. There are dozens of these fake sites that will follow the same web design (templates).

There a couple of signs that a website is fake. This one looks professional at first glance, but it's just a website template that has been copied from a legitimate website and there are little things that give it away, like if you put letters instead of numbers for the phone number or just a random word instead of an email address and there is no error returned when you submit the form, also it doesn't take credit cards only bank transfers, which can't be disputed, unlike a credit card payment. And no paypal - paypal is secure and requires the seller to provide legitimate, traceable details. At the end of the day, if you see something ridiculously cheap on the internet, it's probably a scam. And you can always email them, ask them certain questions that are going to trip them up e.g do you sell Cervelo P2s in pink or do you sell Shimano Trek BMXs.

what did you find when you went by their location?

I showed this to a kid at one of my LBS's and he warned me not to trust them ... even with all these voices saying be afraid, I keep finding myself wishing they were legit

x2 on this. I got a MTB from direct and had a great experience. Good bike as advertised and was to my home in 3 days.
