My only question or suggestion would be concerning the hole for the valve. Would it be more aerodynamic to use some of that high tech packaging tape to cover the hole or even retape the cut out back in? It would still be easy to remove if needed. |

Packaging tape actually works quite while for disc wheel, and you can tape your entire wheel with it. |

When you take out the sliver to make it concave the disc will be smaller so if I made it disk 27mm to start with wouldn't it be too small after the cut? |

Just measure from the brake track to the hub and add a bit, a 1/2"? Make sure to measure along the spokes, not straight up and down. |

I also made my own disc cover, but used .060 abs. It works fine, but if I did it again I would use .020 or .040(if I could find that size locally). I took it on a 45 mile ride on Monday to make sure there wasn't any issues. It worked out great. |

I've taken it out on a few rides and had a 45 miler this weekend with it on during the rain. As long as you correctly tape it, it works AWESOME. Probably cost $35 total and a few hours... |
