Triathlynne - 2011-10-20 12:00 PM I discovered yesterday that I don't have AMC with my Dish network.  I am going to DIE!!!!!!!!!!! Is there anywhere else I can watch it?

Walk around your neighborhood knocking on everyone's door. Ask them if they get AMC and if you could be their Sunday night friend for 1 hour each week for about 12 weeks.Laughing

It struck me as average.  Kinda slow I thought.  And hey, when you go in the med trailer, have a back up plan, jez. Maybe just one extra flare.

So a couple of things about this episode made me wonder.

1.  Why no walkers at the farm?

2.  Medical "Trailer" arrived at location somehow.  Why not go grab a vehicle of some sort capable of pulling a trailer?

3.  There was a Hummer right there next to them, why is everyone driving around in these crappy vehicle's?

4.  They are in the country, has to be an F350 Turbo Diesel with a push bar on the front.  Why not just go get in it and just start running these dudes down?

Medical trailer?  Yes hook up and pull that bad boy to the farm...  Maybe that Humvee?

Ok they threw all those flares to distract the Zs...great.... but when they come out of the Med trailer...ooops hey there area bunch of Zs looking at us....

Ugh...who is the writer of this show...make these people smarter or more intuitive.

  • You expect that from hillbilly farm boy and meathead cop?

Yes, hook up the trailer and lead the horde out to wherever you are...

ok, so I just heard about this show.  I had no idea it was on last season.  Just saw a commercial for it last week some time.  OMG this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!  I've been thinking about buying 28 days later and 28 weeks later just to watch over and over along with I am legend, but his just hit the spot.

So I watched 3 episodes from the first season last night on Netflix streaming and we'll see what I can fit in tonight.  I feel like a kid with a new toy!!!!

Show was a bit slow... they do need to keep building the plot/characters if the show is going to last... so i will give them that.... have the 1st 2 episodes of this season followed the comic books..oh i mean graphic novels?

Go to you nearest military instillation and pull down some artillary.  At the CDC I saw a 60 Cal sitting there, maybe no ammo though.  By GOD there is plenty of ammo, especially since the scene is set near Atlanta.  Should be some in most vehicles?  A 60 will mow those bad boys down to a nub!  Better yet, apparently there is gas, so fuel up that hummer, load the 60 to the top and "Let's Roll".

?Good God do I have to do everything myself!  Ok, it's just a movie, but I want some common sense thrown in or are we basing it on how we would actually act, like these blundering guys in the movie...hummmm?

Would like to discuss more but Im busy trying to get a 60 off EBAY just in case.

I watched the first episode of the second season "with notes" and it said that the reason they call them "walkers" is because they live in a world where no one has heard the word "zombie", so maybe no one has heard the words "steal a better car" either.  I don't know.......... Just saying.

If you guys like Walking Dead then you need to check out Adrian's Undead Diary, a blog written by a guy surviving in a zombie apocalypse.  Very good read, I enjoy it much more than Walking Dead.  I've been following for about 6 months, the author updates every couple of days.  Good stuff.

Assuming it follows the structure of the comics, I think you will get a rather surprising answer to the first point...

The part that makes me mad is why not grab one of the big cars and just do some zombie off road driving? Run through the back a few times to thin out the pack and slow down other. I know it would be a waste of gas but it would be the best way to deal with the big packs.

Waste of gas and ultimately self-defeating. Unless you knock their blocks off, they can come back. And of course, the "surviving" walkers will still get you in the end. Sort of like taking an antibiotic but leaving some of the infection still inside. You will relapse and be no better off.

Read the Zen of Zombies. A zombie is single minded in its pursuit of its goals. Taking out some zombies will not cause the rest to scatter, the way it would if you were being chased by some angry mob.

I hear you, when I first found AUD I couldn't stop reading until I was fully caught up.  Many, many hours of lost productivity.  It really is a fun read.  Be sure to check the side stories that pop up from time to time, they tend to reveal details about the other characters in Adrian's world.

Check out History channel this weekend or any site where you can pull shows.  There was a show on last night Zombies: A Living History, 2 hours, very very good.  Stradegies for survival, everything you need to know to survive the coming zombie apocolyps.

    Adam

They usually rerun new shows on Sat and sunday afternoons the week they are shown, very much work watching.

I was thinking more of braking legs and running them over so the whole group would be immobile. Seems like a quick way to stop a big mob. I'm thinking like a bull dozer with a cage just running over and squishing everyone.

Plenty of ammo to be had in GA. Its a law that every house in Kennesaw (20-30 mins ride north) have a gun. I honestly dont know a single household that doesnt have 1 here in GA.

2nd season is slow, whyd the kid have to get shot? Could they not come up with enough material without that?

Any doctors out there able to comment on the validity of the kid surviving at least a day with internal bleeding and the chance of infection from the  bullets and open wound.
