Subject: Tri Shorts: What brand do you wear?

I received a pair of Pearl Izumi Tri shorts for Christmas.  After trying them on today my wife was kind enough to point out that you can see through the fabric to my privates.  I took a look myself and sure enough there I am in all my glory for the world to see.  I have to take them back.

So......other than Pearl Izumi, what Tri Shorts are you guys wearing?

I've tried a couple of brands and my favorite so far are the Cervelo tri shorts.

I have pearl izumi tri shorts and i haven't had any trouble with my private parts being visible.  Maybe it's just a defect with that particular short.  I'd check this out before moving to a different short.  I've tried cannondale and trek and to date have been happiest with the pearl izumis.

I have a pair of Desoto PowerTri Shorts that I absolutely love.  Very comfortable.  Fit well, and definately do not "reveal" anything that they shouldn't be.  They fit tight, as they should, but you can't see through them!

They are also at a VERY good price now at several online sites as well,

I have a pair of zoot, and a pair of TYR. I like them both.

Happy new Year.

I have a couple pair of Desotos (love them). And I think if you go on their website, you can get them for real cheap. Also own a pair of zoots that are very comfortable as well, but I would go with the Desotos.

I have several pair of Pearl Izumi and have never had any sort of problem... I think you must have had a defective pair. I have also used Nashbar's house brand and had good luck. They are nice for cycleing training and can be purchased for around $20.

I have a couple of different pairs, but the Sugoi are my favorite. They are very well made and are very supportive.

I have a pair of Pearl Izumi's that don't give me any problems. Also have a pair of Titan Wear shorts. Not as nice as some, but good to use on brick workouts so I don't wear out my good ones.

For regular biking shorts I buy the bibs from either Nashbar or Performance. For tris, I wear a 1-piece tri-suit, and I like the ones made by Tyr.

You have an understanding wife...mine would have let me embarrass myself before pointing out that fact!

I wear desoto. They are one of the less expensive tri shorts out there and I have had no problems with them.  When they break down, I will buy another.

Maybe it's the color and not the shorts.  I think black hides things better.  I have a Team Javelin tri suit (bottom is black) and inexpensive black Performance Bicycle shorts.  No problems with either.

Then again, it may be that the equipment your'e packing needs surgical reduction.  Check with your wife before going under the knife!  SurprisedLaughing

I doubt the wife would agree with an "equipment reduction".  She's happy with the equipment, she just doesn't want the world to share in her enjoyment.

I have DeSoto and Sugoi shorts. They're both good. I prefer the DeSotos, although neither pair shows off my alpaca.

Hubby and I both have/had Pearl Izumis.  We had the shocking realization in the privacy of our home too (thank God), but when you put them on, it really doesn't show anything (at least ours didn't).  That being said, I find the PI's wear out much faster than expected...THEN you really can see all da glory!
I'm on to a pair of Desoto's and am really liking them...no see-thru problems there, though I notice a little friction rub between the thighs from the fabric that I didn't have with PI's, but it's negligible.  Good luck!

Thanks everyone.  I ordered a pair of De Soto Power tri shorts yesterday from All3Sports.  I got them for $29.99.  Should have them next week.  Sweet!

Craft and QR.  The Craft ones rock, the QR are good.  I've also tried Zoot and LG but didn't like them as much.

I went with the XL.  Don't want the girls at the pool winking at my llama.
