WoooHooooo

I finished my first ten mile run today!!!!!

I am so psyched, a few months ago, I was hoping that I would someday be able to run 5 miles without stopping and today, I did twice that. I know it wasn't the fastest time (1:42:34 about 10:16/mile) and I will never break any land speed records, but, nonetheless, I was able to finish this run without stopping.

I think this is a testament to all of the inspiration, good advice and information I have recieved here at BT!! My goal for this spring is to finish my first ever half marathon in May in less than 2:30... Hopefully, I am well on my way to doing that.

OK, I am done, thanks for letting me brag.

AWESOME!!!  And you'd beat me in a race with that pace - so in my book - you are a speed demon

With those stats you can brag all you want in my opinion...I hope i can do the same one day! Way to go...just don't run near schools in my town, you'll get a speeding ticket haha!

AWESOME!!

I remember my first 10. It feels amazing. Just think, you ran further then a lot of people can walk. Heck I'm into hiking and a lot of people look at HIKING 10 miles as a hughe challenge.

only 3 more miles and you reach your half....

Congratulations! Not only did you run a lot further than you ever expected you could at the beginning, but you had a great pace, too. 10:16 is nothing to sneeze at, or even to explain. I think that's a nice brisk pace. I can maybe to a mile that fast. Awesome job, keep it up, and soon we'll be hearing about your full marathon time!

Excellent Mike.
Just think, after running 10 miles, all you have left is a dinky little 5k and you've done your half-mary!!!

GREAT JOB

Great Work Mike.  I did my first 10 miles today as well, about the same time as you too.  Isn't base training great!

Congrats to both of you on your first 10 miler!!

It is a time I'd love to have....you are so close to your 1/2 Mary.....you'll be so ready!

I can't wait until I can run 10 miles it is even on my blog as one of my short term goals. I remember when running 3 seemed daunting!

Definitely worth bragging rights!

Keep it up and there will be a day when you go, "Pah, paltry little ten miler! I do that for my weekday morning runs!"

You'll be there soon enough with the motivation you gained from this run. Awesome work!

I wanted to chime in to tell mscotthall that you are AWESOME! Your pace is no small feat either. Also, because this weekend I ran my first 4 miler w/o stopping which is a milestone for me in this training. Reading your posts and the support that is given on this website remind me of why I check in w/ BT. Not many tri-ers in my area so if it weren't for BT, I would be so lost and would most likely have given up by now.
Your 10 miles is an inspiration to me! And to the rest of ya'll, thanks for being part of such a postive community-no one else really understands.
