Thanks for the link.  I just may add this as an early season run/WALK, with an emphasis on walk, as I would do the 5K with my kiddos...Mike could run it but Anne isn't quite ready for 5K.  Jeff will be out of town that weekend, so it would be fun for us to start the season this way!

I have a free registration to this one as I volunteered for the Frigid 5 so I will most likely be doing the 5K racewalking.

So is anyone else actually doing this one?  I have registered for myself and my kiddos.  Now it will probably snow 12 inches and we'll be in our Sorrels... In any case, Mike will probably run the whole thing and Anne & I will run/walk, depending on what she can do.  She runs a 10 minute mile but I'm not sure she can do it for 3 miles.  Guess I can give her a break - she's 7 !

Autumn - thanks for reminding the old bald guy about his Yaxtrax. I have been running on an indoor track and had totally forgot about them!

okay, i guess i'm doing the 5k! i'll send in the forms today. the girls will be doing the wee kids race at 12:40, so we'd be open to heading out for lunch after that. anyone interested hanging out for an extra 1/2 hour or so to watch the girls run and then partake in yet another burger and malt outing?

5k'ers: steven, kris & family, roger, autumn

1/4 mile!: ella and maybe fiona?

Autumn - I have volunteered to help tear things down afterwards (I'll earn some credit through Charities Challenge for my fundraiser) so I will most likely miss burgers and malts . I'll let you know more after I prepare race packets on Thursday.

We're in!  Heck, we could even stay & help with tear down if needed.  With a four week break from swimming, I feel like we have all the time in the world!  Plus, Jeff is in Orlando (followed by Dallas, Chicago, and Zurich all in the next 2.5 weeks) so we're in no hurry to get home...

Well my best laid plans have changed again! Pam's grandma's birthday party is Sunday afternoon so I will have to bolt as soon as I am done with the 5K. I'm bummed to miss out on a malt and burger afternoon with the BT crowd but angry in-laws is a worse choice!

okay, we're officially registered. dropped off the registrations today at runners edge. almost didn't, because we spent the afternoon at the er thinking ella's arm was broken. it ended up being a partially dislocated elbow (nurse maid elbow). a classmate landed on her on the playground today. anyway, we're still in for the 5k, and the girls may still do the fun run depending on how ella is feeling on sunday.

i had been thinking andy's garage for malts, but i think they are closed on sundays. how abut snuffy's? green mill? any thoughts?

Since I still have to figure out where we're going to start with, I'm not the best judge of where to meet for food following... we are good with anything!  Pick your favorite.

okay, kelly is in for the 5k too!

MEETING UP BEFORE/AFTER THE RACE: the race starts right near summit and cretin. check in is at the field house (for those who are checking in race day). we could meet in front of aquinas hall (on the summit ave side). its the last big old building before you get to the summit/cretin campus parking lot. sort of in between the packet pickup and the race start. here are some campus maps if you want to be sure of where its is: http://www.stthomas.edu/campusmaps/stpaul.asp

kelly and i will be there together, and bill will be joining us with the giant yellow ironman double jogger. so, if you see a tall guy with a red beard w/ two red headed girls in a giant yellow ironman double jogger, just follow him! seriously though, lets keep an eye out for each other in front of aquinas hall. if i remember, i'll bring a BT sign, but otherwise just look for the giant yellow ironman double jogger. (picture below if you aren't with me on the giant yellow ironman double jogger thing yet ).

BURGERS 'N' MALTS: andy's garage is closed, and i think anything along grand ave may be really busy. highland grill is awesome, but small. new louisiana cafe - not sure if they have malts. hmmm. we could go up to snuffy's north of como park (kelly has been there), if that's not too far out of the way. otherwise, green mill is nice - but we might have to switch from malted milks to malt beer! hee hee. i could try and make a reservation someplace. after last time, we may want to call ahead

Sounds good - however, we are definitely MAYBE now... Mike woke up not feeling well today, complaining of a sire throat, headache, achy body... We did go pick up our race packets this morning (got nicely lost on the way!).  I am hoping he'll be up for at least a walk.  If not, he has volunteered to hang out at the Field House and read.  What a kid!  I'll decide in the morning how he's doing and hopefully we will see you there!
