Hey everyone, what's your favorite part of tri training? (run bike or swim) I was pondering that question this morning while swimming.... I think mine is swimming but that may change to cycling once I get my new bike!

Cycling...by a WIDE margin. 2nd place wouldn't even be close!

1) Cycling -- If I have to go into the reasons why, it will require many chapters.
2) Running is ok but it does bother my knees a bit.
3) Swimming I would like to enjoy it, maybe someday.

I've always enjoyed lifting weights, but I think biking is my favorite part. I love the wind in my face, and watching the landscape go whizzing past. Lately, I've gotten much more enjoyment from running, but biking is still much more fun. Especially some of the trails and greenbelts here in CO.

I have to say that right now, running is my favorite.
Cycling is #2.
Swimming is dead last.

This order is highly correlated to my ability in each area and how often I do each. I've been slacking on the biking because my bike needed a tuneup and slicks. Those problems should be taken care of today, so I anticipate that biking will move up to the number 1 slot. I've been majorly slacking on the swimming because I suck so bad. That ain't gonna move up in the ranking any time soon.

Generally it is running, by a mile (sorry ) but with the recent great weather we've been having, cycling is edging it. Swimming is always last and cycling will fade with the weather.

Running, running and more running!

Cycling and swimming tie for 2nd - I'm still learning each of these!

Can't say that I have a favorite. I like all 3 for different reasons. If I had to pick though I'd say biking and swimming edge out running, but just barely.

I'm just the opposite of Whit...
Running is my worst enemy, probably because my endurance is awful.
I could swim and swim and swim and swim...but I get bored. Anyone know of a waterproof/water resistant headset/walkman??

There's a waterproof Walkman holder in the new product reviews in this months Triathlete Magazine. Looked kind of cool!

Swimming.... but I'm not really into cycling yet (no bike) so we'll see how I like that. I adore running, but fighting injury has made it incredibly frustrating. :-(

#1 swimming
#2 cycling
#3 running (although that (very) occasionally pops to #1 after a really great run

try aquatunes.com I haven't got one, but a guy at the pool had one and said it worked great. I think it is a special waterproof pouch with a belt and waterproof earphones, and you put your own walkman in it. He told me his particular CD player didn't fit in the one he had, though. Maybe they come in different sizes? I would love one, so if you purchase it, let us know how it works!

Cycling is my first choice, with running somewhat behind. Swimming is coming along. I admit I am starting to enjoy it more than I thought.

Well, running is my first love. Then comes the bike (I love my new bike!!!) and finally the swim (even though I'm better at swimming than biking).

But to be truthful, I really enjoy the different qualities of all three sports.

I guess I have no opinion :-O LOL

Once I get more miles on the bike I think that will come first - then running (except for having to watch for injury - knees, heel, blah, blah, blah) - I can see swimming coming up a few notches once I get better at it. Cycling must be it though - I find myself wanting to do the RAGBRAI.

Surprisingly, I look forward to swimming more than anything else, probably because of the huge improvements I've made in just a few weeks. Going from barely being able to swim one lap to swimming 500 yards non-stop is a trip.

1) Cycling - love it!!!!

2) Swimming as long as it isn't rough water

3) Running - not made to run, so it isn't easy for me.  I don't hate it, though!!
