You may have seen something similar in the St. A's thread:

Testing a new feature in the race logs...a thread will be linked to your race in your planned race area of your log or the 'your race' area as soon as someone 'starts' it. It will also let you know when it's updated. You have to start a race report and go through the wizard to pick the race to see the new links.

I like it.

slowone - 2006-04-20 10:13 AM Is everyone ready? Four more weeks to go!

I'm never sure how to answer that question. I hope I'm ready...we'll see.

One of my workouts this weekend will be a 30 min swim followed by a run this weekend to prepare for that 1st transition run...

I've got a 2 hour run tonight. We'll see.

I think my children are more worked up over participating in the kids race on Saturday than I am over the tri. And that's saying something.

2 hour run was ok. I set a half marathon PR. And on a hilly course no less.

STOP THE PRESSES:

As of yesterday, the course has been changed BACK to a standard 1.2 mile swim/ 56 mile bike/13.1 mile run.

Transition

Athletes will exit the water and run about 200 yards on pavement and carpet to the transition area located in a large grassy field in front of the Pioneer Hall. Racks will be numbered individually with eight bikes per rack. Athletes are allowed to bring a small duffel bag into the transition. You will be able to place this bag under your bike during the race. Athletes will walk or run their bikes in the transition and will mount their bikes after the mount line outside of the transition area.

Shoe transition, we hardly knew ye.

I came to report the transition change as well, I guess I'm late to the party...

After a long day at Tri-The-Parks today, I'm definitely going to be racing the cutoffs in Florida - every minute counts, so I'm at least hoping to start in an early wave.

I wish they'd update the bike profile - it's not like it's going to change my training at this point, but knowledge is power.

Nervous, nervous, nervous...

Today I opened my logs and since we are in a new month all my calendar is in white BUT the 21st which is in green! We are almost there... BTW, is there any plans going on about trying to meet at some point either before or after the race?

I'm flying to FL on Thursday but won't be in Orlando until Sat morning. We're staying at the Sheraton Vistana right outside the park.

I'll probably be at the village most of Saturday. Our kids are going to run in the .5k around 4 (that's the big race in our house, my HIM is just a little side thing) so  I'm up for the pasta dinner Saturday around 5:30 - 6:00.

I suggested the All Star Cafe at Wide World of Sports. I posted the menu on the thread in the FL section. But Jess if you have any other suggestions, I'm open to them. I really enjoyed Dish in St Pete's so I trust your judgement. I'm just more familiar w/ on property places at Disney as we haven't had a car for most of our trips to FL. Only reason we'll have access to one this time is my sister is doing the Disney College Program so we make her drive us places.

We get a jockstrap, we get a jockstrap! Weee! Welcome Sherri.

Things still seem to be a little up in the air right now. Some people are only available on Friday and not Saturday when we were thinking of doing a pasta dinner, maybe at All Star Cafe at Wide World of Sports. We also haven't set anything up for meeting after the race and identifying/cheering on other BTers. It's a little over a week to the race and most of us will be traveling sooner(I should be somewhere over the Carolinas or Georgia at this time next Thurs) so we need to start trying to solidify things if we're going to get together. It was alot of fun meeting other BTers at St Anthony's so I'm obviously voting for a get together of some sort.

This is just a thought...I think everyone will be at Fort Wilderness on Saturday.  What about a late breakfast or early lunch at The Trail's End Restaurant?  It is right there in the middle of everything so no one would really have to travel any where.  If we get a head count I can get priority seating.

The other thing is after the race.  I would be happy to bring a banner or whatever to make a central place for everyone to meet some where near the finish line.  Marmadaddy if you and Ron don't have one already made up that you could bring, I could make some thing up.  I'm not very techno, but I'm sure I could figure something out!!  I took pics of the swim and transition areas but could never get them sized down to fit on a post, so I really am bad at this computer stuff...If all else fails there's cardboard, right!

Let me know what yall think!!

The late lunch might be a good option. I think some of us will try to get an easy workout Sat early AM and then head to pack pick and bike registration. Jess and Jeff (tri take me away) are looking into getting reservations for a pasta dinner on Saturday for those who can. oliveview, you can contact Jess maybe define of a good meeting place after the race. I suggested something close to the finish line so we can exchange our painful fun experiences () and cheer for others.

Jeff and I went to a nice Italian place in Orlando last night that he has been going to for many years. It's about 15 minutes away from Disney and is a nice family-run restaurant.
