Working for the Hard Rock Cafe a long time ago, I had to bodyguard/watch (I use that term loosely) Steven Spielberg, Roger Clemens, and Aerosmith.  A friend is a manager for David Lee Roth.  Oh, and in grad school, I had a one day job dressing up as the Kool Aid pitcher.

I'm qualified to work as an AI specialist in the pig industry if that counts.

I am also certified in AI for livestock.  Namely Cattle and Pigs.  I also am Certified to Audit the handling of livestock prior to harvest in Meat Facilities.  It has taken me to Meat Plants all across the Country and I have worked with Temple Grandin.  I think its interesting atleast!!

My girlfriends cousin moved from the US to Thailand to make a living off of online poker.

He said it was either come up to Canada or go to Thailand, and has never been to Thailand so chose that.

Once I get my degree I hope to be working in some kind of Renewable Energy. Would be cool to work in wind energy.

Big Appa - 2012-01-10 2:50 PM I use to work for an internet filter company and my job was to catorigize every internet site. The majority of sites are porn so my job for 90% of the time was finding, looking at, then catorgorizing porn sites. I have a broad knowlage of a lot of things I have no bussness knowing.

Management wants you to KEEP TWO HANDS ON THE KEYBOARD AT ALL TIMES!

Friend of mine from High School and college  translates the black boxes on airplanes that have crashed.

One of my old bosses has had several interesting jobs: he started up a delivery laundry and dry cleaning service which he sold, then started a radio station in Nashville which he sold, then went on the amazing race and afterwards started a Reality TV channel (with the help of contacts he met on there) which he later sold and then worked for an offshore gambling website as a  PR guy, which he quit.  Last I heard he started up Tom's shoes and is doing alright with it.  That might be someone else's "Huh?" but I always thought he made some pretty interesting career moves.

My old College room mate does/did the Career Builder monkey commercials

This is another "Huh?" but since I do logistics it's pretty cool to me.  A family friend of ours owns a company that fixes oil platforms in the gulf (or where ever). His boats go out to a platform and then lift out of the water up to the level of the platform in order to work on them.

This may count as unusual or interesting.  I am a service forester in Oklahoma.  My job is basically to answer questions and give advice on trees and land management issues.  Today, before lunch, as prescribed burn consultants we got to hike around a nearby lake to inspect fire lines that were constructed last week.  Hopefully, if the weather cooperates next week, we can watch it burn, I mean oversee the burn operation.   At lunch, I donned the running shoes and did some trail running around the lake.   After lunch, I assisted two landowners.  The first needed advice on how to eradicate red cedar from his 100 acre ranch.  The second wanted me to age some of his trees and to know the history of the pecan tree.

Ah yes, the DreamLifter. I dealt with this guy once every couple of weeks in Anchorage. Been on it a couple times.

I wouldn't call my job unique, but I'm an Air Traffic Controller...

velocomp - 2012-01-11 5:28 AM I write GIS mapping software for a living.  It's truly fun as I learn about every conceivable thing that could be mapped.  And fortunately I eventually become a SME in many areas.

You don't work for mapnsoft do you?

Nope, I work for county/city government.

Well the Boeing defense plant in my city just announced it is closing and putting 2100 people out of a job

But I work for their largest supplier on the commercial side and depending on your expertise, yes we are hiring.

Only downside is you have to live in Kansas

I used to pull the trigger on this:

Other than bartending in a strip club, all of my jobs since have been quite boring and IT-geekish.

Yeah cat shots kind of ruin the whole roller coaster ride experience. Of course with the good comes the bad and you eventually have to land (more times than not at night) which lacks the same "rush"

Yes, with respect to traps, and especially night traps, I have the same feeling as the guys who make up the band "Dos Gringos":  F*** that.

Then again, landing my huge, snarling, rotating, gray beast on a single-spotter during a nasty storm at night doesn't rise to the level of fun, either.

I was a Boner..

Well, technically a de-boner.  I worked in a Chicken factory that cooked whole chickens, then we pulled them apart and separated the skin/meat/bones into different piles.  It was awful work.  There was a prison near-by, so each and every night I was standing next to someone who "Just got out"..  I can never again eat a chicken pot pie..
