I work in HR, so I basically babysit adults all day!

My co-workers are mostly overweight, stressed out women who think I am insane for bringing my lunch and snacks everyday and working out during lunch.  I get snide comments and weird looks quite often.

College junior (soon to be senior!) studying outdoor education and natural resources. HOPEFULLY I'll work at a nature center, national or state park as a ranger or ridge runner type thing, a summer camp, someplace like NOLS or Outward Bound... those all sound great. Smile

I have a lot of part time jobs while in school and switch jobs a lot... currently I'm a lifeguard and swim instructor and a sales associate.

Not too much extra money or time for training, but I make it work! =)

I'm a residential real estate agent.

Being self employed has its advantages when it comes to finding time to train but I also have to be available for my clients at some odd hours. With the combination of high gas prices and increased training loads I have just about decided to add a rickshaw to my tri bike and show my clients house that way instead of using my SUV. Wink

tstick14 - 2012-04-10 10:46 PM Firefighter, my dept has a good chunk of guys that ride quite a bit with a few of us that do tri and duathlons.  So I don't get weird stares or "you're crazy" talks.

So how the hell don't I know who you are seeing as I most likely have seen you on scene at some point?! I work for Ada.

--11 years in EMS, the last 9 as a Paramedic. My work most certainly does not afford the habit I've developed in the past three years, but it does allow for time to train. What is the best is my 4 year old son has told me that he wants to do a "baby" triathalon. That day will be the best, I can't wait!!!

Nampa fire last 3.5 yrs, worked for Ada previous to that so you obviously know me just don't know it.  I get recognized by Ada guys all the time out and about.

for anyone, since triathlon has become a part of your life, did it make you want to change careers (if you did change, tell me the story!)? I want to do something that is positive towards humanity and I dont think sitting in front of a desk making software does that, as they say, you buy an ipad not to be productive but to consume(r)

Night shift ER nurse in what is generally considered the busiest level 1 trauma center in the country. Working nights and being on the feet for 12 hrs makes it hard to train sometimes but it is nice only having to work 3 shifts per week. I love my job even though there are times when I want to walk out the door. There are a few runners that I work with but most think I'm crazy. On the plus side, I work for a very large hospital system that is now sponsoring an entire tri series capped off by Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas. I wish that meant that I got a discount on my registration but sadly, it didn't!

CPA in the captive insurance industry. I sit in a chair in a cube working on a computer every day. But I've been doing it long enough that I have the flexibility to train. Get to work from home often as well. Training helps to offset the physical deterioration that sitting in a cube does to my body.
