Master  1657     Charlotte |  Subject: NoDa Brewing Run ClubHey Charlotte runners (and beer drinkers)! I am trying to help out in getting the NoDa Brewing Run Club off the ground. I won't be managing the group (too busy training and all ;-) but helping it get off the gound. The founder is one of the bartenders at NoDa Brewing and has the blessing from the brewery to get this off the ground. Officially starting May 8th, a new running club will emerge at NoDa Brewing on Tuesday nights at 6:30. There will be a 1, 3, and 5 mile route. Tuesday night is also NoDa Brewing "NoDable Release" night where they release a new, one time only, beer. We are hoping to get some "incentives" from the brewery for the club but that is still being worked out. I was on vaca last week but hope to come out this Wednesday. I am going to try and get it some more publicity this week by sharing it some of my running friends and helping promote it myself. |

Since the outside patio wasn't covered (and the ominous skies) I didn't want to get stuck having to rush home afterwards if it rained (or having to just stick her in the car). One girl did bring her weimreiner though. If the weather cooperates, I will bring my dog when I can. Patio was definately dog friendly. We had a pretty good turnout for the first official run (and crappy weather pre-run). There was 22 in the group picture we took and I think a few missed the pic so I will say we had 25 or so. Almost an even split between the 5 and 3 mile groups. Only 1 think did the 1 mile loop. I will be back out next week since the other Brian will be out of town. I will direct the 5m run again. Make sure you say hi! Oh, there was so of the NoDable release left over from Tuesday (which I didn't realize until I was leaving). |

Master 1657 Charlotte | Subject: RE: NoDa Brewing Run Club Also for the "Run Fest" tomorrow (9/19): Bring in your lightly used running gear (shoes included) for a chance at raffle prizes (gift certs, beer, shoes, etc). One entry per piece of clothing donated. Items donated benefit RunningWorks, a charity started by Charlotte pro triathlete Kelly Fillnow (who may be there if she isn't too busy training for that little race in Kona). I will be there with wife, kid, and dog in tow (yes, leashed dogs and leashed kids are allowed on the run). First time I have been there in a good two months due to the whole IM training thing but have a HIM race taper this week so I have time to squeeze this in.
