Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

get set up, road the course a few days before, checked my bike 100 times
Event warmup:

none - BAD ME!
Swim
  • 05m 54s
  • 250 meters
  • 02m 22s / 100 meters
Comments:

ok swim - not sure on actual time as T1 has been added to i t think as i canusually swuim this in under 4.20. Also had to overtake 2 people and couldnt tumble turn because of rails on the side
What would you do differently?:

concentrate on technique more and calm down:)
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

got t-shirt stuck, put head through the arm! go my sockas and shoes on ok, anmd was aloud to do this by the pool as there was a uphill run to T1, unracked bike and was away quite fast
What would you do differently?:

not panic when putting tshirt on - buy a tri suit!
Bike
  • 49m 30s
  • 15 miles
  • 18.18 mile/hr
Comments:

pretty good as its my weakest, some of the hills could have been taken better though
What would you do differently?:

go into the hills harder and with a better gear selection and come out the sadle more when it got tough
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

not avail - was added to the bike leg i think???? i slammed the brakes on in the dismount zone and the bike flew up and the chain came off so i ran with it to T2 (only 50m:), nice and fast in and out, littlke sip of drink
What would you do differently?:

be a bit calmer at the dismount
Run
  • 11m 26s
  • 1.5 miles
  • 07m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

ok., overtook quite a few people including the person who overtook me on the bike which was good, should have gone into it faster though
What would you do differently?:

FASTER!, it was way slower than my normal run but that Jelly legs i suppose:)
Post race
Warm down:

had a massage:)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nerves a little, pacing possibly on the bike

Event comments:

well organised and ran on time, novice results up within the hour

Well done!

Some of my friends in my tri club did that event and said it was really good. One of them came first in her age group.

Are you a member of any tri club?
