It has started.  Is it time to go into DefCon?   http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/05/26/2818832/naked-man-shot-killed-on-macarthur.html

When he continued the assault, the officer shot him, police sources said. The attacker failed to stop after being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half dozen shots.

Don't they know?  Shoot the head.

Zombie threads are always my favorites.

If you don't have it, get Zombie Apocalypse for the iPad and iPhone. Hours of fun!

Love me some zombies.  I was given a "Zen and the Art of Zombie" book.  Hilarious look at Buddhism and being a zombie!

I think I also say one of those Doomsday Preppers shows where they were preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse!  That show is just bizarre.

I don't know about South Florida, but my grandparents used to live in a retirement community on Longboat Key, and I can tell you that if there were any zombies there, they would blend seamlessly with the indigenous population and no one would even notice until it was too late.

But I'd tend to think that old-people zombies would be even slower and less agile than the others. I mean with all the artificial joints and osteoperosis, they'd have to be easier to evade and take out. You'd probably even have zombies with walkers and scooter wheelchairs.

Although the story is riveting, I find it amazing that it took two writers to describe the incident in such a poor fashion.

Another reason to retire to North Carolina.

The tv station security video is even more strange. They blur everything. Why show it at all?

Old people zombies are the worst...they sneak up on you and gum you until you realize they're zombies. Because your first instinct is to think theyre just confused old people, they can really get close. If you have any open sores, you're now infected.

They also sit at green lights for an eternity until, in a fit of road rage, you walk up to their window and BAM! Dentures in the arm!!!

Be safe out there people.

My "zombie" preparations, like most others', was simply a kit and plan of action for general social unrest/disorder in any type of emergency event.  The goal is to keep my family safe and able to fend for ourselves for a foreseeable short time into the future (food, water, shelter, defense, first aid, etc.) for a month or so.

No longer will I be able to think of my "zombie" kit as just an analogy...it must now be a true zombie kit!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh the undead humanity.

What confuses me is now they are stating that both men were naked running down the causeway, but the story has changed several times.  I'm confused....

I guess I will hold off on calling Bruce Campbell until I get some more answers.

When I think of the damage inflicted on the local population by retirees and their giant gas-guzzlers swerving around the local highways, I can only shudder to think what kind of carnage they could create if they were actually trying to kill people.

Another blow in the FL/AZ competition to see which state is weirder.

As a FL resident, very proud that FL seems to pull ahead with this story. Come on AZ, give us your best shot! Have a feeling that naked flesh eating zombies is going to be hard to beat.

I sent this to my daughter, who made the mistake of reading the article late at night when she was alone in her house. I did point out that the zombies in Florida have not (yet) made their way to upstate NY, so there is some hope there. Also that I hoped she had taken my lessons over the years to heart and has a well prepared zombie plan...

FL/AZ competition? I wish I knew there was one. I have lived in FL for 5 years and work a lot in AZ and these are two very bizarre states. But FL has at least 1 story per week In the national news that prove FLs bizarre reign...

Then again, FL is the 4th largest state by population and AZ is the 16th so the crazy level could be close on a per capita basis.

As for naked zombies. I have to wonder if Tom.Demerly didn't have a partner in his candy-eating binge this weekend. This one went awry. Happy to say Tom is back on the Tri Talk page without further signs...

Did the victim make it?

Florida is the home of crazy.  I'm fully convinced we are the most screwed up state in the union.  As Jack from 30 Rock said...

"Have you ever been to Florida? It's basically a criminal population. It's America's Australia."

As an officer drew his gun and called for an end to the attack, he "just stood ... with pieces of flesh in his mouth and he growled," eyewitness Larry Vega told WSVN-TV.

Not a Zombie, we are ok.  Remember, a Zombie would have attacked the next closest living thing.  Just another Miami Dolphins Fan!

I disagree. If that was the case, it would read "looked at the officer with a disconnected and complacent look of someone longing for the return of Dan Marino and Don Shula."

The 30 Rock comment keeps making me chuckle to myself. And I'm in an airport, so that's not a good thing.

This is much better than the original article.  Especially the Bugs Bunny part.  When did he cut Florida loose and send it toward Cuba?  I need to watch more Fox News.
