I have to admit, I do use the multi use trail even when MLK drive is closed to cars, just going back and forth on the MLK side gets borning after a couple loops.

However, I never go into the areo bars when other people are walking, running or riding.  And I never speed on the trail.  I try and be as safe as possible

I guess I missed you guys on Sunday.  I left the meetingplace at 7:35 figuring nobody was going to show up.

As for the Philly tri, not feeling confident.  I am doing the Olympic.  I had done more training before last years race then this years, just looking back at my log.  Last year I did around a 2:29.  I would like to beat that by a couple minutes.  I am just looking for improvements in each area.  I would like to be around 40 minutes for the run, but we shall see.  I would love to get top 10 in my age group to qualify for the Race for the Toyota Cup, but I am WAY off of that.  So anywhere in the top 25 or better in the 35-40 age group would make me happy

Matt.

Anybody see a guy taken away from the bike course in an ambulance last Sunday? Just off Chamineau (sp) on the downhill after the stables? That was me. Rear QR came loose and down I went. Broken collarbone, fractured ribs, road rash, and sore as hell! Bike seems ok, but no idea yet why my rear skewer came loose, but first time using these skewers on my race wheel. Skewers are from my Easton wheels, race wheels are used Zipps.

I am out of commission for several weeks. Not even supposed to drive for 3 weeks!

Damn, sorry to hear that. I hope you heal quickly. I was on that road around 8:15am.What kind of bike? I have a P2 and was told that you need to tighten up the rear skewer more than on a road bike because of the horizontal dropouts.

Quintana Roo Seduza. I've used these wheels many miles on this bike with no issues. I've used these skewers too, just not in combination. Hard lesson for sure.

ok, it hurts to type......

I did repeats on Lemon Hill this morning before work. Very sweaty! Be safe guys, it's getting hot out there. So much for having cool water this weekend.

I am still holding out hope for a wetsuit legal swim.  But if the 95 and sunny doesn't warm up the water.... the 100 and sunny tomorrow will!

I saw today that they have the racks set up for transition... Is it too late to switch to the sprint distance... right????? Frown

I tried to swim at the outdoor pool today at lunch. The lane markers were removed and there were a million moms and kids. I swam for 30 minutes and gave up. Also hoping to use the wetsuit on Sunday but the schuylkill is 75 degrees already.

Do you turn 30 in 2012?  If so USAT rules state that you are the age you turn in that year.

I'm actually hoping for wetsuit illegal (optional range) and that lots of people opt to wear them so there's less congestion on the bike course.  (I start early with the "old women".)  I just noticed how many drafting violations were given out last year... how the heck do you avoid them on a 2 loop course?

I'm pretty sure that you can still register for the Sprint... might as well do both races.

Which hood? I moved to Wynnewood a few moths ago; we're neighbors. I was walking yesterday and saw a Cervelo tri bike on the roof rack of a parked car just of Manoa Rd (but still in Montco).

I am thinking of picking up my race packets this afternoon. Hell, I paid enough do do the combo I might as well get my swag.

New movie" "Tri boyz in the hood." Except they're all in spandex and one is covered in road rash.

Get your packet! You paid so what the heck. Looks like tomorrow will be a du, t-storms will turn the river nasty. Probably Sunday too. Figures.

Yah, I thought you were in Narby.  Wynnewood is real nice too.  We shop and eat over there all the time.  I live right off Manoa road closer to Earlington.  Sadly, not my Cervelo.  I'll be skirting though Wynnwood on my way to the trail Saturday. How you holding up? All caught up on your TV?

We were renting in Narb, purchased in Wynnewood. Waned to stay in LMSD. I had just started running on Manoa; have a 6 and an 8 route from my house that go up Monoa and 10 that goes up into Bryn Mawr and back down to Haveford Rd. Trying to mix things up with different routes. I used to live right on the Narb 5 mile route and ran that often. I may have to find some 3-5 mile routes if I lay off for too long.

TV is getting old!!!

Wait a second?  Talk about neighbors.... I live right off of Manoa near Earlington (actually I live on Earlington!)  I see runners all the time, but so far mine is the only tri bike that I've seen in the area.  I guess you all are hiding!

Good luck to everybody this weekend.  I am hoping for the decent showers today to cool the water temp (still holding out hope!) and the overall temps.  Was out on MLK drive this morning and the sun makes it feel MUCH hotter then it was.  Of course, today is the end of the heat wave, so I think we might have lucked out with better weather, especially Sunday

I run the same roads.  Do you ever bring Haverford college into the mix?  If I am coming around from college ave I poke in and do a loop.  This time of year if you see a guy at the 7-11 drenching himself in water it is likely me 2 miles from home looking for a savior.

Rivercast has the temperature in the river at 82!!!!  Ugh, we might need more then rain to lower the temp.  What's the chances of snow?

I have run through Haverford College after I discovered the hard way there's no sidewalk or shoulder on Haveford Rd right there. I come up Montgomery to the Cricket Club, shoot across Station to Lancaster, then College to Haverford and Haverford back towards home where I have a few side streets to choose from.

I had my tri bike out on Karakung a couple of Sundays ago trying to do repeats but it was too crowded. lots of kids learning how to ride which is awesome. I guess I have to get out there early for repeats.

Maybe we need a "Havertown/Wynnewood Area" thread.
