Pre-race routine:

Drove like mad to get there after work. Thanks 5:00 patietn for coming early! Shuttle bus to sight. Then a long wait (20 minutes) to pee. Walked to startingline. Got about a tenth or less close.
Event warmup:

Not much. Little walk and some stretching. A little Chi. Ran into Marmadaddy. He was headed up front to kick butt. Yoshi and I started about the 11 minute pace line. Ran into some other people to talk to. Talked to RD for the Finger Lakes Tri while waiting for the porta potty. She said they had just talked about th enumber of potties needed.
Run
  • 41m 45s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 11m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

Kept a good pace up. Yoshi plugged right along. Shin splints were gone in about a mile or so. Weather held off for the evening. Not much problem with sweat.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Next year I'll run with Yoshi. It was really cool to do it togather.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank, got shirt, had banana, walked and walked. Some quad stretches.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The walkers!! Why do they think its cool to start at the 7 minute pace marker. It was 3 minutes to get to the starting line. Why there wasn;t a big pile up of the 10-12 pace runners is unknown. If you go respect you pace. Everyone would be faster. Race director should do more to monitor this.

Event comments:

Fun race. Great to have all those people meeting and seeing friends. So a few people we hadn't seen in a while. We had some dinner at Yoshi's work tent. Mike is forceing me to do the Pittsford Tri.
