It was kind of expected as I did some traveling and had visitors as well which cut into my training time and took away my focus from nutrition. The past week and a half though I have rededicated myself to a solid, healthy eating plan and I'm seeing results again. I'd say that weight loss is 80% nutrition and 20% activity, but I'm interested to see what everyone else thinks. Good luck to us all. I have reached my final goal. I would like to stay right around 200 lbs. + or - 5 lbs. (small change.jpg) Attachments ---------------- small change.jpg (24KB - 15 downloads) |

Member 65 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer Congrats to you and your amazing achievement! You have truly been an inspiration to me because we are on similar paths. I started out at 245 at the beginning of the year, and am now around 210. I'm hoping to lose these last 10 lbs to get under 200. I agree that weight loss is 80% (maybe even more) diet, and the rest exercise. That being said, I'm focused on eating well for these next couple of months to get down to 200. |

Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer Way to go!!!!! I started in 2005 at 275. Got down to 240, then 230, and sorta stayed there for a long while. Then went down to about 208-210, where I've stalled. Want to drop that last 10, but old habits start clawing ther way back in |

I hit a slump in June and now it's time to get back on the losing train. I hit a big goal and then lost focus after. Just signed up for an Oly in August and need to really get ready, but now I have another goal! July 1 220 up a few pounds after a 2 week vacation. Goal for July 210, big goal, but I should drop those vaca pounds in a few days. |

Those that just lose it to those that stumble but keep going. Just the kind of people I need to surround myself with this year. I am at 230 and would LOVE to see 220 by the end of the month. 7/1/12 230 241/230/141 |

Veteran 869 Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer Ok first off dsand97 you rock, those are some impressive results. I'd agree that this weight loss thing is indeed 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.
Well I got back from a 10 day vacation, it was great. Although I had some good workouts during it (including my first 5K) I managed to put on some weight. No excuses I didn't eat right. I made some poor choices when it came to my food. It was a vacation after all, now I just need to put in some hard work to get back on track. So here it is. 6/20 - 205.0 7/5 - 208.0

Master 2264 Sunbury, Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer I was away for a week with little internet activity (thankfully) - but I'm back and on board on this monthly thread. I was at a camp for a week where we always eat more than usual. Got to leave for a 5k on July 4th, PR'ed it by a good margin in the heat and on a hill, so I think I may be figuring out I can try to RUN more than JOG. (Still very slow.) Anyway, I feared the scale today - my last weighin before going away was 245. I thought I'd for SURE be back over 250 after the week I had. Glad to say - 244.6 this morning. i have B2B 1/2 in 15 weeks. I plan to be sub 220 by then. |

Expert 1566 Prattville Insane Asylum San Antonio | Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer Another month another stall for me! 172lb will be my starting weight! I have started my ultra marathon training, so I am hoping this along with sorting out my nutrition will help me lose a little more this month. I keep feeling like I have the nutrition for the runs sorted, but end up maintaining. Once again, I will recalculate the input vs output for this month. So I will go conservative and say 170 lbs. |

Deep in the Heart of Texas | Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer I have five more days in my 60 day weight-loss challenge. Nine buddies and I decided to see who could loose the highest number of pounds in 60 days. Out of the ten participants, I am the tallest at 6'4" and was the sixth heaviest at weigh in (one guy out weighed me by 56 pounds). Thus, the odds are stacked against me in the challenge for net weight loss. Two and a half years ago I weighted 276, started serious triathlon training and dropped to 225 in 7 months. Since that time, I have continued triathlons and running but have let my eating get the better of me (and 6 months off from running due to PF). Started mid-May at 245 and hit the scale this morning at 216.2. I hope to get to 210 by next Monday morning (pre-workout). I can easily loose 3 lbs with a 2 hour run - then weight in. I don't know if 38 pounds can win (there is only one other guy that could win at this point, but he was the one who started 56 pounds heavier), but I am going to be real close to where I want to be at the end. If I can get down to 205 within a couple more weeks, I will be a Clydesdale at a normal weight (according to BMI).

Well those pounds came off fast! Wondering if my 7/5 weight was a little high. Glad to be back on the right track. That 200 mark is elusive, I have been approaching it for awhile now. My nutrition was good this past week. Just need to keep up with my nutrition - still find it so easy to slip up and overeat or make unhealthy decisions. Either that or I sweat it off because I'm nervous for my first triathlon on 7/14....... 200 by the end of the month! It's hard to believe that I started the year at 240ish. I want to see that 199.8 on the scale!

I seem to have stalled at around 208-ish, down from 235-ish last fall, so that's all good. Would love to hit that 199.9, but to be completely honest, I have not been trying all that hard, and have been engaging in some, shall we say, counterproductive behaviors? 7/12 - 208.6 |

1 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny....July 2012 Burning up the Fat in the Heat of the Summer I'm jumping in ... 60lbs to lose - motivated and ready. Being realistic and not expecting it to happen more than 2.5/week. Anything more will be a bonus. Goals this week -- (1) first road bike adventure Saturday (2) purge the kitchen and bring in the good stuff - back to my E2 way of life then (3) have my training plan in place by Sunday and get rolling EARLY Monday morning - no excuses -- healthy is my new skinny. My Tri-Journey begins! |

Finish up the race, take a few days off, and then go into training for an Oly. Loving the new lifestyle. |

Been doing really well lately on my training and fair on my diet. My wife and I concluded this morning that we undo all we've worked for in a day in just an hour or two after dinner. Help pull me through. I'll pull you in the future. |

Help pull me through. I'll pull you in the future. do you have a smart phone - or a way to track your food online? It's a big help to me to watch my "calorie bank" be depleted during the day. I've learned that "I'll spend/eat it now and eat better later" doesn't work for me. I like to save my calories and splurge more at night when I'm prone to snack. It also keeps me honest in terms of how many calories the food I eat actually is!! I use Myfitnesspal.com - there's a way to add friends on there and it keeps me accountable in yet another way!! |
