Subject: Swim warmup and workout Lately, I've upped my swim time in the pool. I usually do a warmup, some kick drills, pull drills, and then a long swim. When I do my warmup, it kinda sucks and I can only do about 200yds before I have to stop. After the drills (presumably after I warm up) I do 1000yds no problem. I'm not a fast swimmer, I'm only doing about 2:30/100yd pace during my long swim. The warmup pace is probably 5-10sec faster. What type of warmup can I do before a race to get the same results when they don't allow you into the water prior to the start. Is it more of a heart rate thing or a muscle thing? |
