mad-dog - 2012-08-16 12:56 PM Next time, sharpen and bring the harpoon.

I'd like to, hehe!  I'll just continue swimming and if I have to bump her (or another like her) to pass, I will.  OWS race start simulation FTW!  Cool

since most pools don't do much when there is a conflice with lap swimmers and someone just wanted to be in the pool.. I often wonder what they (the gym) would do if I just jumped on a treadmill while someone was running,

There are a lot of techniques that can be used when you have someone standing around in the middle of the lane or at the end. This woman would warrant a bit of "inadvertent" splash. If she's on the right just crossover with your right. You get the idea. It should completely soak her if you do it correctly. I advocate polite resolution to conflicts in the pool, but if the other person is rude then I just get creative, but make sure I never make physical contact with the person. You don't want to hear what I do if they hang around the end of the lane.

I hate splitting lanes, I'd much rather circle swim.  Luckily, there aren't too many swimmers when I go to the pool.  They must think I'm a serious swimmer because I bring my own crap (kickboard, fins, etc) in reality, I'm far from it.  The last time I had to share (not at my regular pool) the lifeguard told the frog kicker that I was coming into his lane.

The frog kickers use the lanes, but the old ladies stay in the non-lanes (the 2 lanes without lane lines).

The frog kickers are the only thing I fear in a pool.  I will grab their leg when I go by, or at least make sure I block them.  I've been kicked by those suckers......it's miserable.  I've never had an instance when we didn't just talk it out afterward at the wall....most of them claim to not know they were kicking that wide. I bet they don't. I always apologize for grabbing/blocking.

I'm still wanting to have an underwater kick fight with a crazy lady. Laughing

Yikes! I love my pool. If I seriously had a problem with a fellow swimmer I'd approach a lifeguard and nag like I'm known to do well, and if they had a problem and kicked me over it, I'd jump out of the water and be all ...

Nah, I don't know what I'd do, but knowing my knack for getting riled up I might have to remove myself from the pool.

Honestly though, I've never dealt with the level of pool nuttiness that you all speak of!

Wow, truly crazy!

I tell my kids that they lose all credibility the moment that they resort to physical retaliation in any dispute. So, if I were the lifeguard, I would have given that lady a time out!
