. Why?

Logic says either A) he's a regular poster over there, or B) The Court of ST will launch an investigation and undoubtedly figure out who he is and call him out by name, complete with linking to his last 5 years of race results. Or do they only do that for alleged cheaters?

turtlegirl - 2012-09-02 9:17 PM He doesn't deserve that much attention. I'm not sure how he even got into Kona...he's not a very good cyclist. He also used to bike by me making kissy faces and saying "I love u". I just found the whole thing comical. But the riding in headphones and that he'd use aero bars in group rides-> dangerous and poor form.

EEEEEnteresting ...

... but who knows, he mighta won the lottery.

Still. INteresting.

Some guy cycling by me doing that after I told him to cut it out might just get smacked in the face with a full water bottle. By accident. Bonus if the sticky Powerade all comes out and ruins his listening device.

I would stick playing cards between his spokes. He won't hear it but it will warn everyone else he's nearby!

No comparisons to this guy, I did not see the offense or the habits of the rider, but I saw an OCeanside Police Office stop and ticket a cyclist on last weekend's run. I am assuming for running a red given the location.I think he still blew through the next light.

I don't really care one way or the other, but if ya want to know his name, address, phone number, date of birth, number of IM's and which one's he's done, you could probably have it by noon on Tuesday, it being a Holiday weekend and all. That would be the only reason I could think of.

Hmmmm, how 'bout barber and tattooist, too, just for giggles??

Only last 5 years? Sounds like they'll go easy on him.

You'd be angry all the time if you rode in San Francisco - where the running of stop lights and stop signs by headphone wearing cyclists happens to be an epidemic.

Not to reflect the judgments of this man to everyone else, but... I always find it very interesting how cyclists are always in the right and point out the wrong in others. Sometimes those that think there are always are correct are sometimes incorrect. As much as I would like to make comments on this man, I know I have been in the wrong before and have been stand corrected or told what I was doing wrong, and that is what corrected my mistakes, had I never been told I may still be doing them.

turtlegirl - 2012-09-01 5:02 PM I know the guy you are talking about. He rides on the RBC rides. He is from Europe and doesn't quite get social cues either(he is quite theske chauvinist, having had out his hand on my friends butt while we were biking. He tried to get onto our team and got rejected. I can tell you more stories

You say he's not a very good biker, but groping and riding is a pretty advanced skill...

Oh, and yes to more stories!

I know the century you're talking about... hopefully he happened upon one of LCSD's finest who was handing out tickets that day. This really makes me mad given how crazy drivers already are in this area.

I heard about that...cops gave tickets for people not putting their foot down at stop signs. Again, the actions of a few douches continue to haunt those that ride safely and legally.

Really? That's all this guy did? Wore some headphones and buzzed through an intersection in your neighborhood?

And here I thought it would be something personal, something like buzzed you off the road or disparaged the size of your calves or some such. Instead, it was just some guy riding a century his way, which arguably is on the jerk end of the spectrum but quite far from the actual end of that spectrum.

Life is way too short to be "unbelievably angry" at this guy's offenses, when there are so many other things to be concerned about.  Also, I doubt of those three motorists know you exist today any more than they did before he buzzed that intersection.

Buddy of mine once talked his way out of a ticket on this one.  Explained to the suburban cop what a track stand was, then demonstrated.  Officer was impressed.  Said they were "taught" to look for the foot down but now understands  a cyclist can really stop without doing so.  Interestingly- local 'big city' cops know what a track stand is from seeing the downtown bike messengers doing it at stop lights.  (But they still give cyclists tickets for running red lights & stop signs!!)
