My favorite (right now) from TheClaaaaw has a well built man that appears to be in the all together holding a sign up covering up his bits that says, "Run faster or I drop the sign."

I saw a guy that was dressed up as the Grim Reaper holding a sign saying "The End is Near" about 1/4 mile from the finish.  Made me laugh.

I also like one of TheClaaaaw's (kids') signs that says "Worst Parade Ever".

Good ones from last week's IMWI:

Think about puppies. (while running up the helix to T1)

I traied for 6 months to hold this sign.

If you think this hurts, wait until tomorrow.

What the f*ck!?! where have you BEEN?  (on the 2nd bike loop)

Chafe Today.  Brag Forever.

I saw this one at the Nations Triathlon last weekend - "Chuck Norris never did a Triathlon"

I saw one at a local race that said - "Run faster, the beer is almost gone"

"Chuck Norris Never Did a Half Ironman" - sign from doing the August 70.3, seen during the run.

Though "Chuck Norris Never did a Triathlon" does work.

at the 2011 Chicago Marathon there were 3 older (70+) women, who I saw 3-4 times throughout the race with this sign....

"There will come a day when you can no longer do this, today is not that day"

I saw these two as well.  I liked the chafe one a lot.

My family saw two good ones:

Parents holding sign for 18-yo kid - maybe the youngest ones?

"We didn't get up this early to watch you walk"

late teenage kid

"Hurry up dad, I have somewhere to go"

Best one I saw at florida entering the finish shoot "You will do DID this" (i.e., from the ironman insprirational video)

My favorite (right now) from TheClaaaaw has a well built man that appears to be in the all together holding a sign up covering up his bits that says, "Run faster or I drop the sign."

Hmmmm, that seems to be a departure from what I did see this summer. I was at a 4th of July parade, and there was a Lions Club unit (I think) who was fundraising. The not-at-all-well-built guy in the barrel had a sign about getting a look for a donation. I asked him "how much to keep it on?" --- that variation you posted works very well for a race.

"I didn't wake up at 8AM to watch you WALK!"

"Free Beer...25 miles on the left."

There is a group of rather good looking young women who have signs they show off at every endurance race around here:

"It hurts because you're kicking so much butt"

"It's not sweat, its your fat cells crying"

and my personal favorite...

"You've got great endurance...call me"

Some guy had a life size cut out of the Dos Equis guy (world's most interesting man).  He was holding a sign that said, "stay hydrated my friends".  This was at the Racine HIM last year.  That was a fun one.

LOVE the McKayla and the "You've got great endurance" signs.

I remember "Chafe now, brag forever" and "Your feet hurt because you're kicking so much a--" from my first marathon.
