I considered going to 20 mi today, just to hit 80 mi, but I don't want to go into another 70+ mi week worn down, want to keep up with quality workouts, not just slog through the days and risk injury.

My wife did her last 20 mile run before starting her taper for her first marathon. She will be doing the MCM. I have not run it before, and am a bit jealous, but I am very very excited to spectate, give her support, watch the other runners, have a great day, and not be drop dead exhausted at the end.

Nice week! What are you training for?

Going to try to BQ (need 3:10) in Philly Marathon in about 6-7 weeks. Based on my estimates from training using McMillan I am right at about 3:10, and its a bit too close for comfort. I am pretty much red lining the training from here to the end of the month and keeping my fingers crossed that my body holds up. For the race, the plan is to try to hold 7:10 pace. Figure the first 10 will be easy, the second 10 will be where I will just have to work hard to execute the plan, and the last 6.2 will just be how bad I want it. I am trying to not think so far ahead, and just get to the line healthy.

Ron, its her first marathon, so I told her the goal is to finish and have a good time, but my guess is 4:30 ish based on her training pace. I think you won't be hard to miss, so perhaps I'll see you at the finish. Congrats on the double marathon, every one of your challenges you complete is an inspiration, keep it up.

#353- 10 mi, 2 mi warm up, 8 mi LT (about 6:40 to 6:50 pace)

Day 686, 6.2 miles.

ImSore With your training that you have been doing you should be able to hit the BQ as long as the weather cooperates that day. If you see me give me a shout to let me know who you are. I should be finishing around 3:40 time frame, I am running with a friend and pacing her.

#72 - 3.60 miles. I'm near matching my longest streak ever and I'm on track to make my yearly mileage goal, which I had thought was out of reach. This thread remains a source of inspiration to me. You folks are awesome. Thanks for streaking!

Nice to see your streak still going. I think we have 7 active streakers on the thread, and a few that I am sure will be back. I know I've made some great strides (I know terrible pun) since I started streaking, and am glad to have the company.

#354- 15 mi.

#16 - 5.19

#17 - 3.79

I have only been doing this 17 days and have noticed improvements.  My pace is faster, with less effort.

It appears I have also FINALLY broke thru the weight loss plateau that I have been stuck at, I have also lost almost 3 lbs in this time.  I have also never felt stronger.

My co-workers think I am even more insane, then they already did as well Laughing

As of right now I definitely plan on carrying this out past 30 days.  I hope I'm not just in a 'honeymoon phase' with this.

Day 688, 4.2 miles. I have a half marathon tomorrow. It is a local one and one of my favorites every year, kind of hilly though but that is just the nature of where I live.

Absolutely not. I can say that this past year of streaking has helped my running more than I could have possible imagined though. I feel far more sturdy than ever before, and even my last injury...the slight calf strain, I shook of with no problem in about a week. And today I logged another very solid run, and this is after 15 miles just the day before yesterday.

    #356 18 mi. 2 mile warm up. 12 mile hard (7:03 pace), 4 mile easy/cool down.

I have another tough 3 weeks, then taper. Then I will probably just recover during the winter, look for some fun no pressure races before getting back into IM training for IMMT next Aug. Have fun with your half this weekend.

Have a 5mi race tomorrow - last year it was my first ever 5 mile race.  I am excited to see the time comparison between the two.

Day 689, 13.3 miles in the half marathon today. I ran it in 1:42:44 which is not my fastest but considering I just ran back to back marathons last weekend and another one two weeks before that I am pleased with the results. My legs did not loosen up until mile 4-5 and then I was finally able to hit my half marathon pace and then the hills started. I did finish 16th overall and 4th in my 50-59 year old age group.

Guess you had a bunch of fast old guys in your race!!! Hope you had fun.

#357- 4 mi easy. Planned on a double today, but blew off my evening run to watch Kona live and have a few beers. Will do 11 tomorrow to hit my 70 mi for the week.

Day 690, 14.2 miles. Yes there are a bunch of fast older guys where I live. Two years ago in this same race I was 11th overall and 5th in my age group. I was 49 then and in the 40-49 year old age group. Some of those runners are now in their 50's too.

I am officially out for the HM next weekend. My feet have just been giving me too many problems on anything past 4 miles or so. I could do it cardio-wise no problem, but it'd be just too painful on the feet. Pretty bummed, you guys. I need to get this figured out...want to do a HIM in the spring.

#77 - 2.43 - I'd planned for more and I was feeling great until I realized last night's chili was a bill I hadn't finished paying yet. I'll probably get in a rare evening trail run to keep my mileage on track.

Take care of your feet and take a day if you need to. Don't let the streak blind you, and I'm not only saying that because your streak is one day better than mine.
