BIKE COACH...

Out of curiosity, what were the key things that you took from the coach session?   I saw significant improvement from a swim coach, but have never  thought about hiring a coach on the bike (aside from being professionally fit on the bike).  

For me it's all about building confidence, I'm not a bike rider never really was even as a kid.  the guy stood in front of me while I was clipped in, got me to adjust my position to be totally central and how steady and balanced the bike is really.  Also taught me how to stop properly, how to lean into turns etc - just pulled things together, made me realise the bike is an extension of me - how to relax the shoulders and arms how just a small adjustment to hips and shoulders can turn the bike etc.  If you're confident on the road you wouldn't need this kind of session...

That would be a perfect gift!  IKt's $70 and we did more than an hour in Albert Park - I did of course fall off once but was on the grass.

I'm going to have another private lesson then go out with their beginners group - if the sun ever shines at the weekend....
