Did that race last year. It's a really nice venue for a race. Stayed up late the night before watching LSU/BAMA. Woke up tired and was surprised that the bike course was Way more hilly than I expected, my bike dropped the chain three times in the first 25 miles. On the third chain drop, I somehow simultaneously got a very bad cramp in my hamstring and ended up going down in the ditch. I waited for 15-20 min when bike support came by, they got me patched back up after a while and I ended up limping to a 7:10 finish.  It was a long, hot, miserable day for me, but at the same time it was an enjoyable place for a race. Oh---I also got kicked on the swim and lost my wedding ring!!! NOT GOOD!! Lost my timing chip in that battle as well. I'd like to do it again as redemption b/c pretty much nothing went right for me there.

My wife thought I needed to be committed long ago!  Looking forward to the race.  Need a bit of a cold spell beforehand to make sure it is wetsuit legal!

That wasn't enough cool wind was it?  Looks like mid 80's and sun shine with rain removed!

Water temp was near 72 deg. earlier this week.  Hope it warms up a bit now!

Looks like great race weather this weekend! Most of the bike ride should be in the upper 60's, if you believe today's forecast. That's kind of a tough temp for me....not cold, but not hot! I'm guessing I'll leave the toe covers on and leave my helmet vents taped shut. I'll bring the arm warmers but probably won't wear them. The ride through the forest will be all shaded, but things should warm up once we get to Richards and the road opens up!

Cut some finger holes in the end of some tube socks. Ghetto arm warmers and disposable.

Shock, perfect weather!  Actually, could have used a little clouds and rain during the run!  Good race!
