An absolutely AMAZING accomplishment for someone who has had maybe a total of 8 weeks of solid training after being deathly ill too many times over the last year to count!

I thus dub thee - TITANIUM YANTI!

Mind of steel. Taint of titanium.

TANGEMELONS PRESS

Exactly!!  Though just be careful as the taint recovers... it doesn't feel so titanium-like - and that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Titanium Taint needs to be the name of something. A punk band, a bike, a guitar. Something. That is too good not to use again.

I got up this morning and checked in, and saw it was going to very close, and I was sad for you, but knew if anyone will bounce back soon, it is you.

I cannot even begin to express how deeply moved I am. Believe me, I absolutely sensed and flew on all your support out there today.

I had a "discussion" with the official after lap 3--civil but pretty insistent on both sides. I really wanted to try for the last 10km.

Not sure how I feel about the finish line staying open to 17:20 (I might have made that. VERY tight, but maybe). Not sure it really matters to me, actually. I had a blast out there and the very, very best part -- of today, and most days -- was all of you.

I just have to say, your attitude is f*cking amazing.  We could all be so lucky, to look at this sport through your eyes..

Not much more I can say Yanti, an amazing and inspiring effort on your part. There are very few people who would have attempted to do this on 8 weeks of training. You should be proud of your efforts as we all are.

I was so honored to be there in just the tiniest bit and had you in my head all day, and today on a very blustery ride, had you in my head all day, envisioning those two hellish stretches and knowing if the pros were doing 16kph your 10kph was amazing.  So proud of you@!!!!

I can imagine that "discussion" with the official LOL. Congrats on an amazing day! You clearly have the requisite endurance and mental toughness; all you need is a little more speed. Recover well, train consistently (and try to stay away from dirty water, mosquitoes, and sick people), and you will be there. BTW going to sign up for Laguna this week--hope to see you there!
