Cat,

That is an awesome tat....and I am not a tat person.  Honestly an amazing tribute.

thanks - that is the irony - I am not a tat person either!

Judi we are both doing Rev 3 Williamsburg - BT meetup???

Yes!

Anne Baker is also doing Rev 3  (she's doing the HIM) and we'll be traveling together cause I live about 90 minutes from Williamsburg.  Since it is a point to point race we'll have to drop bikes off on Saturday--maybe we can meet up then!

Well my first day of the burpee challenge kicked my butt.  However, I think it is going to pay off huge dividends by the end of the month.  The photos will tell the truth, mirrors don't lie.

Eating clean came a lot easier.  Good breakfast starter I had this morning was 1/4 cup of natural almonds, with a cut up banana in a bowl, topped with 1 tbs of raw clover honey and a dash of cinnamon.  Delicious.

Thanks for all of the support.  It's amazing how encouraging words from everyone has helped.

Not much of a change, which is good at this point.  228.4 this week.  I am committing to 2 days in the gym a week until my life gets back some normalcy.  Hubby and I are starting a month of no eating today out so hopefully that will help the nutrition get back on track, also.

Nice tattoo, TriToy!

Didn't meet my March goal of getting down to 120 lbs. I am going to try even harder in April. So...the April goal, is to get down to 120 lbs!

April is off to a good start for me - of course, I haven't hit a weekend yet! I've been very careful putting everything into MFP and measuring vs. eyeballing. (I can't remember the last time my kitchen scale got so much use!). Of course, it also helps that my training volume is picking up too! Looking forward to Friday's weigh in.

My eating has been awful! Feel stuffed and eat some more.
So far this week down a pound!

Important point is that I've started my sprint training program and am able to do the workouts. I prepared well. When it said run for 25 mins. I was able to run for 25 mins. I was beet red, sweat flying, heart pounding - all for 11.5 min/miles LOL.

It would be easier if I was lighter but I've got to start where I am. Don't expect to lose while training - not my past experience - too easy to make up the calories burning. That's OK, though I hope I'm wrong and that I get my eating healthy and clean.

Since I've started my eat clean challenge I've found something nice.  It is easy to get full without overloading your calories.  When you're doing it with something like bell peppers, apples, baby carrots, etc.

You get that full feeling sooner and then I log in what I ate and can't believe how few calories it all is.  This eating clean is awesome, but how I do long for a break now and again.  But, I've committed to a whole month.  After the month we'll see the results and then perhaps build in a cheat day or something for me to have what I want.

Stepped on the scale this morning cause I was a little punchy after just waking up and thought it was Friday.  I think tomorrow is going to be a milestone day as far as weigh ins go, if this morning was any indication.  My joy was short lived though as soon as I realized it was only Thursday and not Friday.

BT meet up for Rev3 Williamsburg?!?  Mind if I get in?  Anyone doing Rev3 Williamsburg plan to do the Breezy Point Triathlon at Naval Station Norfolk?

Ok... nice way to return from being MIA, right?  I laid off for a little while.  In a non-training related incident, I hurt my right ankle, so I laid off to let it heal up.  Once I felt it was healed up, I just wasn't where I needed to be mentally for training, so I laid off for a few more days.  I jumped back in the saddle on April 2nd.  April 3rd resulted in a 5K PR... 1/2 HOUR FLAT!!!  Not blazing fast, but I can hold that pace for 5K, 10K, 15K... all the way up to 10.2 miles.  :-)

Joining this thread late, but down 25lbs for the year so far, from 246.8 to 221.8.  Current goals? 20X by the end of April, 190 by July 14 (NYC Triathlon, my first).  I've come down from 292lbs in the last 18 months or so.

I'll have to keep an eye out for info on a gathering.

And thanks.

On an mildly unrelated note... I've noticed that TWO first days of the month have happened, and we haven't seen AbbieR in a bathing suit since February 1st.  tsk, tsk, Abbie!  ;-)

As I said yesterday I was a little sleep deprived in the morning and thought it was Friday.  Stepped on the scale and saw a 198.8 and I was ecstatic until I realized it wasn't Friday.  I thought it might be some kind of "the stars aligned" fluke and that the number I saw yesterday morning would disappear, but to me it was an indicator that eating clean and training had me once again headed in the right direction.

So this morning I wake up fully aware that it is now indeed Friday and make my way to the bathroom for weigh in.  Step on the scale and see that indeed the number yesterday had disappeared and had been replaced instead with 197.8!!!!

I have hit my goal.  I am under 200 lbs. for the first time in probably 19 or 20 years.  Total weight loss since joining this insane group known as triathletes is 62.2 lbs.

Hope everyone has as great a day as I plan on having.

Don - you rock -congrats on your hard won success!

1-6-2013 165
1-11-2013 163.5
1-18-2013 160.5
1-25 159.5
2-1 158.5
2-8 160.5
2-15 165
3/8 163.5
3/15 164.5
3/22 165.5
4?5 164.0

This happens a lot, I've been eating too much and to much junk food. Now not recording cals so maybe my impression is wrong, but I've been eating past the point of full and had chips and plenty of candy this week.
Down 1.5 pounds. Then I'll eat well and either gain or stay the same wt. Maybe I'm missing the larger picture. Its not that what I'm eating is a good amount of cals, if I continue poor eating I will eventually gain.
It's just discouraging to not get more immediate logical feedback - as it starts me down the wrong road of thinking it doesn't matter what I do.

On positive note, it's my first week of training and my prep workouts have paid off. When the plan says run for 25 mins I've been able to run, nonstop, for 25 mins. Will swim today and will have done this weeks plan to the letter.

EXCELLENT Don! That must feel great.

Yea, Mitzi for getting the training in, and the loss this week.

I am down to where I started last month. Got the last 2 pounds of extra steroid wt gone. I could have done better, but I was not great in the evenings. Gotta clean that part of my diet up.

VGT- welcome and great loss so far.  I am doing the NYCtri, too. My first in a long time! (what is your name, btw?)

Speeknight: WTG on your PR!

VGT: Welcome and congratulations on your loss. You are doing great!

Don: Congrats on reaching your goal!

Mitzi: It's all about consistency --both in training and in weight loss. Don't reward your loss by slacking on the tracking. Keep the momentum of your loss and let that propel you forward.

I'm down .5 for the week. Not bad after ODing on the sodium in ham. For Halloween I buy candy that I don't care about. It doesn't tempt me. Hershey bars and Nestle Crunch. For Easter, there's no escape because I have to get Reester Bunnies and Reese's Eggs for my kids. Luckily they take it all back to college so it isn't in the house afterward. This year I was smart. I left it all in the bag which I tied with a knot. I didn't put it in their baskets until Easter morning. I resisted all but one bunny ear. Smile

dsand97 - excellent work! You'll never see 200s again, right?

MuscleMomma - You'll get there. I seem to lose one week, go stale the next, lose another week, go stale the next. The point is, you keep coming back to it, and now you're in tri training!

Good for everyone who lost weight this side of Easter! I myself got a visit from my in-laws, had a wonderful dinner out to celebrate my father-in-law's retirement, then my mother-in-law broke out allllll the Easter chocolates. And I made cookies. All that food, not excercising since we had visitors, and I still managed to lose a half pound!! Heh. I can NOT wait to get to 120! 3 more lbs...3 more lbs..

Nice!  That's my goal too.  Almost nailed it the other day, 30:24.  I could've hit it too, I was using my instant pace as my gauge, keeping it around 9:30, but underestimated the hit from a few hills where I slipped to 10:20-30 or so.  Got my 'long' run tomorrow, 6-8, and will go back out and nail it this week.
