I think you learn more from a DNF than a finish. I've not DNF'd a race but I've DNF'd a few very important training sessions so I can just imagine how much more I'd learn from a race DNF. I would think you learn not only about your training/racing strategy, but also about yourself.
Good point! I have a 93 year old great uncle who is the oldest living Jesuit in North America (he got this award last year ) who said of my DNF that maybe God was teaching me some humility.
