Subject: KS 70.3 Bike Elevation I'm guessing this may have been covered here before, but I couldn't seem to find anything. I have a friend who is considering doing the Kansas 70.3 this year. She asked me about the bike course, so I went and looked up my Garmin data. I was surprised to see that my Garmin had measured 1,985 feet of elevation gain last year with correction disabled (2,275 with it enabled). The official course map shows 1,184 feet of gain. I know GPS data (at least from a 310xt) should not be considered precise by any means, but we're talking an error of 90%+. To IMKS vets, what does your data show? Has anyone raced it with a 910xt? I think that device includes an altimeter. |
