New season premieres tonight - woohoo!

I hope Philip is as entertaining as usual.

I am glad Malcolm is back, just because he's so dreamy.

Should be interesting.  I wonder why they couldn't get any of the really big names back for the Fans v Favorites...maybe they are sick of playing or sick of the physical toll or just decided they are already famous enough.

Yet another good reason to stop bringing back returning players...how about bringing on enough new players so that new superstars emerge!

I'm excited for Cochran.  I liked him too!

OK...being prepared to be slammed, but I am out this season.

I have been less and less interested lately and just decided I need a Survivor break.  Fans vs Favs was probably my least favorite season ever.  I may regret it and tune in at some point, but for now I am getting an hour of my life back.

You can always DVR it and watch it some lazy Saturday all in one shot. :D

Should be pretty good.  Probst tweeted that Cochran got sunburned the first day and can hardly walk. We'll see. He also tweeted that Philip is off to a fast start.  Could be good or bad... Love me some Brenda.

Yay fans!

It's episodes like this that make me think the favorites are going to IMPLODE...too many chiefs/players.....

So far I am cheering for Cochran and Dawn...and the "non-egotistical fans".  Geez...the cool kids lunch table...ugh.

I'm sorry... getting voted off first at two different games is hilarious. She's too smart. Something about her says threat. Other players come out strong, but you can laugh them off as idiots.. Philip. But for some reason, Franchesca just rubs people wrong. I think it's funny. I wonder how that rock tasted?

More wacky Philip. No it's not cool.

Soon to be followed by more emotional brakdowns by Dawn and Brandon I'm sure.

Fans... what the heck is up with Marine Corp guy... how many people do you need to make a fire? and then you just sit there.... and tell the guy to shut up. How many times do we see someone first day paint a big huge target on their forehead.... Oh, every single season. If they lost the challenge one of those two would have gone home... but USMC guy is plenty powerful and they probably would have kept him around.

How many times do we see all the pretty people and older people clique up... oh, every season.

Wow... Francesca booted first again. I agree she has something that just rubs people the wrong way in this game.  The only way she got back on was because Philip was back on otherwise why would you bring back a player that was booted first?

The USMC guy.... lighten up Francis.  If you want fire you can make fire yourself and let others build shelter.  I think he is correct but that doesn't excuse him sitting on his fat arse while everyone else was working.  I'm pulling for the BMX ZZ Top looking guy on the faves.

Philip never disappoints.  I like his idea of RM rules and trying to play like Rob but all those players were in awe of Rob and these guys are veterans and don't get that anymore.  That will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Corrine has a rockin' body... all I have to say about that.

I'm guessing they aren't allowed any sunscreen.  I hurt at home feeling Chochran's pain.  His feet were so swollen, wow.  I still like him and his interviews.

So far I'm very impressed with this season.  Let's see if some of the people like the USMC guy can mend fences after starting off so brash with his tribe.  He needs to learn that this isn't Iraq and you can't just bark orders at people like in the Marines.  There is no court marshall here for disregarding orders and no rank like the military.  If he keeps this up he won't last long.  Didn't he lose in the first challenge?  If I'm remembering that right is he a great asset? He's a bigger guy an that means he needs to eat more than the smaller ones. Something to think about when you're rationing food.

This season should be interesting. There seems to be more overall active people with except for Cochran no clear week people like they normally have. I think if the fans start to lose challenges USMC will get the boot but as long as they are winning he will be left to be the muscle.

I was practically yelling at my TV at the USMC guy.  First, he was being a terrible representation of the Marines.  Second, seriously...it's Day 1 hour 2...how on EARTH can you not hold your tongue?  It never ceases to amaze me how fast people get snippy on the first day...you can't possibly be that hungry or cranky yet.

In other seasons they do get sunscreen.  I've seen them put it on.  I think it's in their first aid kit at camp along with stuff like tampons and whatnot.  But, what I think happened here is that they went straight to that first challenge...which probably took a lot longer in production than the short segment we saw.  So I bet they were on the beach a long time...in their undies...and he got burned there.

I dunno...I would think that getting ready at the hotel or whatever that morning I would put at least an initial coat of sunblock on! Especially a returning player should know better!!!!

I know if I stood in the water, unprotected as they were, I would be at least as sunburned.  The folks with extra melatonin in their skin really have an advantage on Survivor, I have always thought that.  They aren't protected from cancer causing UV rays, but it makes a big difference in day to day comfort.  Normally I eschew the "base tan" idea, but I might do it for Survivor.

I thought the scene where Marine guy was stretching on the beach was amazing!  I wish I could do that.

Overall, I liked pretty much everyone other than Phillip and the "cool kids." I am interested to see how this plays out.   Brandon was particular normal, surprisingly. I am sure it's just a matter of time.

Oh, yeah...I would definitely do a little base tanning before survivor...not for looks but for anti-sunburning!

The Marine guy's stretching was kinda crazy!  It was a bit off the wall...wasn't expecting that...

He was saying how he wanted to hit people on the first challenge so he is the same normal over emotional guy. He will implode at some point and it will be good TV.

I do not know the behind-the-scenes stuff but I would guess the producers have to allow the players to wear sunscreen. That's a major health concern, especially for people not used to that environment. Without sunscreen, I would think you'd see a lot more players get really burned after weeks of near-continuous exposure.

As for the Marine, we've seen this on "Survivor" many times before. Big guys don't last. Without the calories they need to sustain their muscle and size, they melt down. The players that last and sustain their performance in the physical challenges are the lean ones with good endurance.

Girl.... I wish there was a little smilie with the eye-to-eye finger thingy. Ya, he is a returning player... he does not have to "tan", but even he can get some color. We have fair skin people come inall the time to just get a little color to help things out. And he KNOWS he needs to cover ever square inch.... but ya... he was GLOWING. Ouch

Same thing with USMC guy. Does it take the whole tribe to make a fire??? In all seriousness... if you volunteer to play Survivor... and within hours you are making enemies and being that stupid... you have a few screws loose in the real world. Completely socially inept.

Sucked back in.  Again.

But really, can you have a "favorites" team where I don't even recognize 3-4 players???    the favorites thing kinda sucks.  I just hope Erik isn't milquetoast again, but I don't hold out much hope on that

I hope I recorded it.  Thankfully, if not, you can catch it on CBS.com.

I had a dream I was on this season...  That STILL would be cool.  Thankfully, it's not age restrictive (or looks!).  Just have a bit of "crazy" in you and your good.  I can fake that...

Agree. I didn't get to watch the whole episode yet but when they were introducing the cast I didn't remember several of the contestants. I do remember Philip but he was definitely NOT one of my favorites.

That said, I'll still watch .

Someone mentioned it earlier, yes Corinne's got a rockin' bod.

The Hope chick may be the prettiest face to ever grace a Survivor beach, that said, her personality is very unlikeable.  That whole "cool kids in the high school cafeteria" was nauseating.  Thank you Survivor for taking the hot chick and making her completely unlikeable, grr!

The 1st episode was very disappointing.  I'm trying to find someone I like...nuthin' yet, maybe Dawn?

About all I could muster was rooting for Malcolm's fat twin.

They made the right move tonight.  Now hopefully they can put up with Shamar.

Man oh man that guy is NOT representing the Marines well....the poor Marines...

I think this will be a good season...lots of personalities and the teams are pretty well matched at challenges.  Though the fans really messed up their assignments on that last challenge!
