All the bike trackers are down except the last one it looks like - the pros only have a bike split for 180km.

WTC has a pay-per-view site for live tracking.

Yeah...my guess is that all the timing mats are "working"...but just that nothing is being relayed to IM's web server due to no internet connectivity.  Somebody needs to drag an ethernet cable out to those timing mat computers.  I'm guessing we won't get any intermediate splits till the race is over.

Yep this is pretty typical Ironman tracking.  I shut down my site I had for tracking people during an Ironman partly for this reason. I've been debating starting back up again but the results were just completely unreliable.  You would think they would have this all figured out by now but there really are many other variables. For the splits to get relayed from the timing mats they require a cellular signal.  If a ton of people are on their phones clogging the cell towers data will likely get a lower priority and if their application can't properly handle chunking the data then the updates will never get there. I worked with one timing company that literally had people getting splits onto a thumb drive and bringing them to the main timing computer.

Now I'll get off my soapbox and back to Yanti.  GO GO GO!!!!

I sent a note via Facebook to Yanti's sister who is playing IronSherpa this weekend. She has told me she is trying to find Yanti as well, and doesn't think she's come through on lap 1 of the bike yet. I've asked her to provide an update when she has one, as there are a bunch of folks looking for info!

Thanks for the update.  I'll keep checking back, very frustrating that the spit times aren't getting posted.

Come on Yanti!!!

Hey wonderful people--I felt the love and strength all day. Unfortunately I'm broken (a rib, joints are very red, swollen and bruised), and my bike is REALLY broken. A lot of things went wrong today, and a lot of things went right. Mostly it was glorious, and I was deeply humbled and grateful for the incredible support I felt from all of you. THANK YOU!

This was both the hardest and most painful experience I've had. For those of you who know me, that's saying A LOT. I did have a crapload of fun too though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tried to track all day and by the end was wondering about a crash or catastrophic bike issue. I figured with all the training you've been doing you'd make the bike cutoff for sure and the run would be the big challenge!  Get well soon!

Get some ice and some piglets and some rest.

Not sure how fast ribs heal (or bikes get fixed/replaced) but you might want to disregard the PM I sent you--did it before I found out about your misfortune. Take care. Smudgee the gecko-hunting mini-tiger sends his love, purrs, and condolences.
