BUT, I use the wheel for training, and don't keep the cover when training.  To install/remove the cover, you're looking at 30 minutes or so.  You need to remove the cassette for this operation.  So you need a chain whip and cassette wrench tool.

Probably closer to 5 minutes.

and most of that is putting the little screws in or taping the cover on.

Unfortunately, no wom wom, and an occasional crash crash noise when you hit a bump, but aero-wise its just as good as a disc.

I make the wom wom wom noise myself when I pass people.

Easy when there's only like 5 people in front of you to start the bike.

I usually only get to make the sound if one of those 5 has a mechanical issue.

It doesn't make that wom wom wom sound.  If you go over some really rough road, it does chatter a little.  Not so much if you use electrical tape around the edges.

I have both the screws and the tape. Can't say I've heard it chatter. My wheels are loud enough as it is that I don't miss the disc noise. People hear me coming quite well as it is.

Yeah.  I tape mine, and I hardly ever hear it rattle.  I did borrow a friend's disc, before I got my disc cover, and I do miss that sound.

Definitely 5-10 minutes tops.  It took me longer to install a latex tube, and that's only because I was trying to be super careful.

Taping >>>>> screws.

So much nicer of an installation.  And you don't get the lumpiness you see in the picture on the first page.

I will just say that if you do choose to use tape without the screws, make sure that you're using good tape and that the adheasive is still good.

I saw a guy at a TT that taped his cover, and part of the tape started to peel off.  After a few miles, once the wind was able to get under his cover, the rest of the tape peeled off.  It was on the drive side, and since he didn't have a chain tool, he was forced to rip it off just so he could ride back to the start line.

The screws weigh next to nothing, so I prefer to use the screws, and add tape if I'm not lazy.

I use tape and the screws with tape over them to counter any potential drag created by them.

Might be worth a try. Since you need to attach the cover to the wheel spokes you might have to wrap the velcro strip around the back of the spoke to get a wide enough strip to make good contact so it might be kind of tricky to keep the velcro where you want it.  Otherwise it might work.

Personally my disc cover only comes off my race wheels if I'm doing a super hilly event so tape isn't much of an issue.

Duct.  The actual 3M kind is much better than the cheapo crap.

Anybody care to share a link or photos about how to properly duct-tape a wheelcover on?

I prefer electrical tape for the area where the edge of the cover meets the rim.  The width of the tape is perfect right off the roll, and it's a bit stretchier and supple to accomodate the curves.

Duct tape would work well if you're taping the inside of the cover to the spokes.

3M electrical tape.  Duck also makes good stuff.  Definitely don't use the generic stuff - the adhesive on the high end stuff is much better.  When applying use light tension.  If you stretch it out it will creep back and come off.

No link but it is pretty easy to do.  Lay the wheel down flat and put the cover down.  Gravity will help it lay flat so you don't end up with a warped install.  After that I use a single length of tape and just tape it on there up to (but not on) the brake track.   The adhered area is huge and the tape will hold it on very securely.

Next time I put it on I'll try to remember to make pictures.

See the link I posted on the end of the 1st page.  The OP of that thread posted several pictures one a closeup of the taping.

I just finished installing an aerojacket on my bike tonight. I used the provided rivets. But in order to get enough clearance from the derailleur in low gear, I had to use some duct tape to connect the inside of the drive-side cover  (near the hub) to the spokes. Here's how it looks installed... race-ready for Sunday:

3M Super 33 in particular works quite well.

Been looking where to find ABS sheets to make my own but they seem to be hard to find where I live and shipping is out of this world so I may be back to just buying an aerojacket.  One question.  Some people say don't get the rivets some say do.  What are the Pros and Cons of both?

There are some tricks to installing also.  I tape the spokes on the drivetrain side to hold secure.  Push the screws in, and don't screw them in.  Had a friend who didn't read instructions and screwed his in, and it came undone during a race.

There is also a company in the UK called RalTech, that makes the same thing, custom, but in carbon.

So I used my aerojacket covers today for a race.  Followed the instructions for the fasteners (push don't screw) and still had three come off.  It didn't effect me or anything and I didn't even notice it until after the race was finished and was loading by bike into the car.

What's the consensus on using the rivets?  I've seen some people say don't get the cover with the holes/rivets, other say use them.  I would think on the drive side you could avoid using them by taping the inside to the spokes and using the electrical tape around the edge.  The non drive side I'll admit I would be a little nervous using only the electrical tape around the edge.
