I'm up at 0400 daily. If it's a bike day, I try to be on the trainer by 0430 in the garage. If it's a running day, we're running by 0500 (25' drive into town for me).

Weekend runs usually have a 0500 start time too. It's awesome being home by 0730-0800 and having all day to get things done. The biking usually doesn't start until 0600 due to daylight though.

And I go to bed around 2200-2300.

I'm in bed between 9 and 10 and get up at 3:00 every morning.

I guess my "crazy" times were when I'd have a run near 2 hours before work so I'd have to get up at 2:30 to do it.

BernardDogs - 2013-03-20 10:06 AM If I have to shift a long run to a weekday, a 3:30am start time is pretty typical. That would probably be a 3:00am wake time. I'm usually up by 4:00am on any given day anyway.

4am daily wow ? why so early and do you go to bed at 7pm ?

8:00 or 8:30. This week I've been way off and have been sleeping in until 6am. I hate it.

I teach 7 class this semester so I have an insane schedule.  Thankfully the university is right next to my gym.

On MWF: swim at 5am and other core workouts until my first class at 9am.  I then teach until 11am.  I get to the gym and run/core work until 1pm.  I have office hours 1pm to 3pm and then teach until 9pm.  On Tuesday and Thursday I do sufferfest.

Probably the craziest was getting up at 0130 to pedal on my trainer for 70 miles before going to drill (Air National Guard) for the weekend.

Up around 4:45am M-F, and usually 5-5:30am on weekends to get rides/runs in before the family's up.  I have done many long rides (130+ miles) starting at 2:30am....which meant getting up at 1:45am or so.

Pros:  you have the roads largely to yourself.  If you're properly illuminated it's in some ways safer than other dark times when, similarly lit up, you'd get more "lost" in the increased traffic.  Also, around here from May-August, you only have a few hours' of real heat/sun to deal with rather than all day.

Cons:  It's really freaking early, and even if you are a super morning person (like me), it's hard not to be grumpy in the afternoon after the ride.  Also, convenience stores, etc. may be closed, so you might have to get creative with respect to food/water/bathrooms......

Regularly get up at 4:30 each day and working out by 5:15am.  Not a big deal to me, I'm asleep by 10 each night.  My workouts are in and done before anyone gets out of bed.

I'm up at 4am every day for work.  If I squeeze in a workout in the morning it's 2:30-3:00am.  You'd think I'd go to bed early, but I never get to bed before 10pm.

The good thing is that getting up at 5 or 6 for a weekend ride is sleeping in!

I thought that worked better when it's the other way around.  Either way, you're all nuts in my book.
