Run
Comments: Signed up for this race as a training run, found out 10 days before the race that it was a Boston Qualifier, so I decided to try to BQ even though I wasn't fully trained for that speed yet. I started off too fast and tried to slow down, got into a good pace of 7:35-7:42 range and felt that I could hold that. My legs got very tight at 18 miles in and began to lock up at mile 21. I struggled from there to make it in. What would you do differently?: start slower, practice for several right hand turns, those really ate up my right leg. Post race
Event comments: I enjoyed the race, people cheering all 26 miles, plus fellow runners encouraging each other as you lapped and got lapped. I like the litter free water stations and being able to set up your camp anywhere on the course. I received a big boost from Brenda fellow BT'er everytime we past. I may not have BQ, but overall it was a well run event and a very unique experience Last updated: 2013-02-07 12:00 AM
