I thought Aegon was fireproof.  Didn't he try to steal the dragons, or am I confusing something here?

Regarding the horns - My theory is that the obsidian horn is for the white walkers.  It could be for the wall, but I bet it will be a WMD for the walkers.  Obsidian blades kill the white walkers.

Now the dragon horn, I think it has something to do with Dragonstone.  It might awaken the massive stone dragons at the castle.  Does anyone remember what was said about the existence of dragons still at Dragonstone?  Was it Stannis, or someone else?

There was something about a rumor that there is still eggs there but I don't remember what it was exactly.

In the Epilogue of the 5th book Mace Tyrell states that no wealth was found on Dragonstone, and that his son's men searched every inch of the island and didn't find gold, gemstones, "nor a sign of this fabled hoard of dragon eggs".

I just got done reading it and it was a few pages back from the end.

Bah, I can't remember the details anymore....

Was the broken horn made of obsidian, or just found with the knives and arrowheads?

The horn was auroch’s horn and was found with obsidian wraped in a knights watch cloak.

dork

yep.

That's name calling... Banned for a month!!!

Back to the story.  I think the most satisfying thing i've read thus far has got to be Tyrion finally killing Tywin on the crapper.  That and shooting "Shae the funny wh-re" after she helped to convict him...

Not if he agrees.

I have had my finger over the "buy now" button on Kindle for the 5 book set.  I just need to finish up studying over the next couple weeks or I will be distracted.

Don't be a dunce like me and buy them one at a time!

I'm really looking forward to Arya's storyline with the Faceless Men in the show. Curious to see how they are going to make all of that work out.

I think the show will be better for season 4 than the book was. Book 4 bummed me out b/c I wanted to know what was going on with Jon and we just got more new characters and new places. The other seasons of the show won't be able to hold a candle to the books though.

Her storyline is WEIRD.

Was book 4 where they focused on some sea captain's and the Dornes? There are some story lines in all the books I find very dull.

The Dornish storyline was YAWN.

The guy who tried to steal the dragon's at the end of book 5 was the Dornish prince (his name is ????). He thought he could tame them or something because he has dragon blood in his bloodline. He was wrong. Very wrong.

ray6foot7 - 2013-04-03 9:31 AM Combine that with the idea that Jon Snow is not Ned's bastard.  Rather he is the son of Rhaegar (Dani's father) and Lyanna (Ned Stark's sister).

That doesn't jibe with Ned letting him take the black, with the focus on hair color of Joffrey vs. Gendry/Jaime vs. Robert Baratheon, and the whole Maester Aegon not knowing about it.

Ned wouldn't have let him take the black if he was an heir.  He would've taken him to King's Landing.

I doubt that - remember that John Snow took the black while Robert was still alive.  Robert murdered all of the Targaryans, including infants.  Had he known that Rhaegar (the heir) and Lyanna (his love) had a child together he would have murdered it.  I don't remember exactly when it's mentioned, but Ned found Lynanna in a bed full of blood, and she made him "promise" something.  My assumptions is that was to keep her son safe.

If I remember correctly not every Targaryen is imune to fire so it is something rare.

The set on kindle is a good deal.  39 bucks I think.  Buy them separate and it's twice that.

I'm not done with 5 yet, but I have to agree so far. After some of the background story and then the Red Viper vs the Mountain, I've been hoping for more. Still hoping, actually. I like the idea of the Dornish women (Sand Vipers) playing a larger role at some point.

The Dornish story is just a set up for the next book.  Myrcella, the vipers, Doran and his slow methodical "game".  It'll get hot soon enough, they all have tempers.

That's what I'm waiting for. Aegon is headed back to Westeros without Dany, so maybe an alliance between him and Doran? I know he's sent his son to marry Dany, but... I wouldn't put money on it.

Keep hoping... it's a storyline that goes nowhere. I think the author had thought it might go somewhere... but then did nothing with it really. It was a whole lot of filler if you ask me.

Which reminds me... I never really got into the Bran storyline either. I found it to be monotonous and boring. UNTIL they made it to the cave. Then it got a little good, and the author never went back to it.

I really love the Danery's storyline, she's my favorite character by far. I'm not sure who couldn't love her storyline. I mean, she has dragons. Although, they have seemed to be more trouble than they are worth. I kept thinking that Tyrion was going to be sent to help her (not on purpose, but it would just end up that he was the 3rd head of the dragon). But he never made it to her.

Obviously at the end of book 5 Bolton's Bast@rd takes over as the evil villein. Anytime I read his chapter, I knew it was going to be gross.

I was a bit bored with Jon's storyline at The Wall. Then how book 5 ended... WOW! I got all excited about it again. And... the book ended.

Can't wait to see what happens to Margery (I think she's truly a good character) and Cersei at the trial. Cersei needs to die and Margery needs to live and be queen. At least she's nice.

Book 4 was the only one that was hard to read for me. It took probably 2x as long as the others. I think instead of focusing on the story he had and trying to create an ending, GRRM just got carried away and went way too broad. New characters, new settings. Turning it from basically a civil war to an international incident. I'm hoping he can wrap it up in 2 books and 2400 pages, give or take a couple hundred.

For Bran I think he will become a huge factor in the last battle with his 3rd eye stuff and I think he will merge with one of the dragons. I think the other two dragons will be ridden by the last two Targaryens.

Margery may stay with Tommen but they will not stay King and Queen.

RIGHT! I can see him being that 3rd eye. Completely forgot about that! I also think he's going to take over being the half tree/half human guy who is close to dying.
