Lost focus for a bit at Twin Lakes inbound, made a really bad nutrition decision, got sick to my stomach and slogged all the way to Half-moon 2 aid station where I discovered that my spare "warm" clothes had gotten wet so I froze all the way to Fish Hatchery. I finally started to rally somewhere up on Sugar Loaf and was feeling a lot better by May Queen and so was able to squeeze out a finish to stay in the Slam.


Leadville has gotten too big and the aid stations aren't all that good compated to other ultras. Besides that since Lifetime Fitness has taken over they are promoting the hell out of the Leadman challenge or competition or whatever they call it. This year it felt like the only people who mattered were the runners contending for the win and the people in the Leadman thing, everyone else just served as a backdrop. It's really sad.
