BIKE PORN - 2X the pleasure, 2X the fun!

So I'm finally back on the bike after about 3 months. It took a while to get my bike situation in order but I've finally got it worked out and I'm the proud owner of not 1, but 2 sweet new bikes. Too bad I had to sell my Audi to buy them...seriously.

After my accident we initially thought that all I had to do was replace the wheels and cranks on my trusty Specialized Allez but as it turned out the frame was tweaked and I didn't feel comfortable riding it like that. As a result I had to scramble to figure out what to do. I considered stripping it down and buying another frame to build up but in the end decided to exercise my AMEX and buy a Cervelo Soloist. I picked it up yesterday and had my first ride today...50 miles. What a great bike! Fast, light, and comfortable...just awesome. She'll be getting an upgrade to FSA Carbon Pro compact cranks and Neuvation M28 Aero wheels in the next couple weeks (I had already bought these parts to rebuild my old bike before I found out it was toast).

Since I was bored from sitting around on the couch while I recovered from my accident I had a lot of time to surf the internet and I happend upon a guy selling 3 brand new Javelin bikes on the ST classifieds. It started out as one of those deals that sounds too good to be true. He was selling a top pf the line customized Javelin Barolo with Oval A900 aerobars, A900 Jetstream fork, Campy Chorus, and Zero rear disc and 50mm carbon tubular front. This set-up would retail for ~$6800...the damn aerobars along cost $900. Anyway, he was asking $3600 and claimed it was brand new...scam? After exchanging a couple emails it turns out he is the NW Javelin rep and decided to sell off his demo bikes from last season. So I made a call to Javelin and confirmed his story...this was a legit deal and one of the owners at Jav even said he couldn't believe how cheap he was selling this thing. I was planning to pick up a nice race bile over the winter for next season but I just couldn't pass up this opportunity. Even if it turns out this isn't the right bike for me I can easily sell it for what I paid. So that's the story behind new bike #2. The Zero disc and front wheel don't have the tubulars glues up yet so the pics are with the Neuvation wheels that will be moving over to the Soloist. I also have a set of used Mavic Ksyriums coming for the Jav as training wheels.
