"Moon"

"Road to Perdition"

"My Way"

"The Great Waldo Pepper"

"Wholly Moses"

"Melancholia"

"Passchendaele"

"Student Bodies"

I wouldn't call Melancholia under-rated.  Kirsten Dunst won best actress at Cannes for it.

Ahh, I had no idea.  I'd never heard anybody talk about the movie, so I figured that it was.

"Breaking Away" is probably not going to quaify as underrated in this crowd, but ask anyone who doesn't cycle or do tris and chances are they've never even heard of it. Meanwhile, it's one of the best "coming of age" movies ever, with a phenomenal cast, nearly all of whom were relatively unknown at the time.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is another one that I don't think ever really got its due.

Not sure if it was underrated or I wasn't paying attention but my mom pulled out this movie 'Secondhand Lions' and it was wonderful.  More of a family, feel good movie but really really well done.

Also, for this crowd - it was a tiny independent movie - 'Saint Ralph.'  Really touching story and has running in it

1stTimeTri - 2013-04-23 10:37 AM The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

It's underrated because it can't be rated high enough!!

"The Boondock Saints" is one of my favorite action movies ever.  Incredibly underrated as an action film.

Oh, if we're gonna go into that realm (and I agree!), then there's a few that HAVE to be added:

"Fido" - the touching story of a boy and his pet zombie

"Rubber" - a radial tire comes to life, teaches itself how to get up and roll, discovers that it has telekinetic powers and proceeds to go on a killing spree. All the while, people watch from a hill and dine on roast turkey.

"Black Sheep" - not the Chris Farley movie, the New Zealand zombie sheep one.

"Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" - Stand back, I'm about to do... Science!

Oh man, you're killing me with Master and Commander.  That movie and The Apostle are right up there in my "Most Disliked Critically Acclaimed Movies" list.

Chasing Amy

Requiem for a Dream

The Game

Halloween

Loved The Game.  It has a great paranoid vibe to it.

Loved Halloween too, but isn't it known as one of the greatest horror movies of all time?

Probably get slammed, but I always watch For  Love Of The Game with Kevin Costner, Mrs Travolta and John C Reiley.    Nice inside look at a pitcher pitching a perfect game.

I didn't even realize that was Cruise until the closing credits.
