Swim
Comments: swimming continues to plague me...had to walk on the bottom for a bit to catch my breath What would you do differently?: more training!!! breathing training, stroke efficiency Transition 1
Comments: couldn't get my feet in the shoes due to the insole sliding around. Need to secure insoles into shoes better, and have dry feet. Bike
Comments: Had a good ride. Strong on the hills. Funny thing, I had a buddy in my age group riding a Scattante. As I was powering up a hill on Weston, I passed a guy on a Scattante, and just assumed it was him. Even gave him a little "Lance wave". I felt all smug that I had passed him (he's a super swimmer and runner, and we're about even on the bike). Well, turns out, it wasn't him. My buddy did a 1:17 to my 1:32 overall, so I was always behind him. Oh well, at least it was a little incentive. Thay Scattante guy never passed me back! What would you do differently?: Push harder on the bike. I said before the race I wanted a 20.5 average. I could've done it, but hesitated. I was a bit slow out of T1 getting up to speed on Aviation. Once I got up the first hill to Evans, I was ready to rock and roll though! Transition 2
Comments: Not sure why I was so slow here. I ran from dismount to rack, and from rack to run start. What would you do differently?: At White Lake, I had speed laces. Here, I had to tie doubleknots due to no speedlaces on my new shoes. That could shave 30 seconds off easy. Run
Comments: CRAMPING before first mile was over. Once I got through that, I felt pretty good on the run. What would you do differently?: Something in nutrition wasn't right. I was dehydrated due to "intestinal issues" earlier in the day. Post race
Warm down: none What limited your ability to perform faster: cramps (hydration and stretching) Last updated: 2006-07-11 12:00 AM
