So we needed a vacuum, and I'm sorry for all you Dyson folks out there... but no way is it worth $600 for a vacuum. And even the old Kirby's for a grand... what ever.

But, we got a Shark Pro... OMG! Best vacuum EVAH! Best $250 I spent in a long time. I just got done doing the whole house. It rocks. Get one.

Next up.... we needed a new bed and I hate sleeping on a crappy one. I have thought about going foam, but never wanted to take the plunge... I finally did. Serta icomfort... LOVE IT!!! HOLY CRAP... the wife and I literally can't get out of bed now. I stay up late, but actually look forward to the time I can get back in it. WOW.

What have you got recently?

Agree on the Shark, awesome vacuums for the price. They make a really nice steam mop that we use on our tile as well. Works great!

As for other nifty stuff. Ryobi has some new lithium powered hedge trimmers out now. My dad bought one and I promptly borrowed it. Worked amazing! And the battery lasted a long time, I was very impressed.

My house has central vac and I will never go back if I can help it...  But good to know if I have to get one.  I'm not sure if it's the same company as the Shark tile steam cleaner, but I love that for the tile I have.

So ridiculous, but I got and aeroccino for Christmas and having a nice latte every morning makes my day better.  It's my 15 minutes of me time every day.

It's far from recent, but I use my Keurig every single day, and my Ipad gets a ton of use.

My wife bought one of the expensive Dyson's and gave away our old vacuum.  Then a few days later she tells me she likes her old one better.  /facepalm

I haven't bought anything fun in a while, but I did pick up a couple items that can't be talked about outside of the gun thread back in January.

I'm remodeling our kitchen and the new appliances came on Wednesday. We bought Samsung since so many on here had trouble with LG. Ice, either cubed or crushed, and water through the door is SO fun! I have never been so hydrated.

The oven is a single / dual combo. It has a ceramic plate which makes it either a dual when inserted or a large single when removed. I can't wait to put it through the paces of a big meal.

Haven't yet hooked up the dishwasher. Probably Sunday after I finish hanging cabinets tomorrow.

I look away when someone discusses good vacuums. I bought a Kirby some time ago - I think it was more than the car I was driving at the time was worth. I am now committed for life and will bequeath it to some lucky niece or nephew, who will, in turn, hand it down to the next generation.....

Not saying something might not be better, I am just committed for life.

Ya, and you can hand those down. Hopefully your kids will grow fast and you can get a Shark. Very light too. Laughing

It's really sad to be excited about a vacuum. Our last one a Dirt Devil was not broke, it just got as loud as a jet engine. Seriously, your ears would ring. But who cares, it's just a vacuum right? Well... I just can get over how awesome it is. Love it. Yes, I have accepted this is what my life has come to...

My 910xt. Seriously. The thing is out of control. Love it.

My F150, Lariat, 2012.  Again. Awesome. As someone who "needs" a truck (farming), it is just awesome in both form and function.

All Dyson products are overpriced.

We bought a PetSafe wireless fence for the puppy. He was starting to run out of the yard chasing our cats and go into the street to meet my son as he was walking home from school. Now, if he hears that collar beep he runs straight back to the house. He knows where his boundaries are and he will not even get close enough to test them. The funniest thing is the cats have learned where they can sit right outside of the fence and he won't be able to chase them.

I just bought $15,000 of tyranny.  Well, technically, the bill is still in process.  It hasn't quite reach fifteen grand yet.  Or maybe this is $15,000 of hope and change?

Well, I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 and I must say I have a silly smirk on my face about it all.  yeah yeah yeah all you iSheep can keep your $700 tablet.  I know, "but we got more apps"  Ok.  How many apps do you really use?  Ok, your kids use them.  and the games.  It's got all the bells and whistles as far as I'm concerned,(email, watch movies, blah blah blah) AND an external memory card.

Oh and that whole being $400 less than an iPad was pretty nifty too (at Costco).

As somebody who incurred over $900 in a single year in parking tickets in DC  (lived on Connecticut Ave--brutal), I can only imagine the suck factor of having a big truck there, though there were many times I wish I had a monster truck in the heat of beltway traffic.

In small town Iowa, it's all that and a bucket-o-bon-bons. I've had a couple of Toyotas in the past  (and they're great too), but this is my first Ford.  I still can't bring myself to turn on the butt-coolers;)

The butt coolers are great! I love getting a fully decked out Ford when I rent.

I've driven the Toyota, Chevy, owned a POS Dodge and, if I ever go back to a truck, will indeed go Ford. Right now I use an SUV and tow a utility trailer. I don't use the bed often enough to justify a daily driver pick-up.

I bought a Powermatic 6" jointer and a Powermatic 15" planer.  But the thing I bought that really pleases me is an Oneida Dust Deputy.  It is a cyclone separator for my shop vacuum.  It cost like $39 and really works so that the filter of the vacuum does get loaded up.  So cool.
