Total Time = 1h 23m 33s
Overall Rank = 24/47
Age Group = 50-54
Age Group Rank = 3/4
Pre-race routine:

Body marked, bike racked, trans setup. Took one salt lick tab as my leg has been cramping a bit.
Event warmup:

Walked with the group to the water start, got in a swam a bit to warm up.
Swim
  • 13m 32s
  • 640 meters
  • 02m 07s / 100 meters
Comments:

Started off great, actually drafted some. Midways drifted too far right, corrected but went a little too far. Luckily not as far as some. Overall not a bad swim for me.
What would you do differently?:

Sight better
Transition 1
  • 01m 28s
Comments:

Little trouble getting the suit off as I had asked someone to zip me up and closed it a little weird
What would you do differently?:

more time practicing getting suit off
Bike
  • 38m 30s
  • 12 miles
  • 18.70 mile/hr
Comments:

Pulled out and we were supposed to turn soon but cop had road blocked and the riders ahead of me went straight. After a ways I realized we were not doing the correct course. Went to turn around and a lady yelled we will just do the course reverse. Followed her but she missed our turn. Garmin had me at 19.7 and I was cooking. Will know better next year.
What would you do differently?:

Not trust the cops to know the course, I should have known better
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

Decent transition for me. Lost 5 seconds as I thought I saw my shoes off to the side and realized they were someone elses. Mine were by my bike where I had put them
What would you do differently?:

Trust my setup
Run
  • 29m 13s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

THis was a BLAST! Running in the muck, mud, water, etc. I evidently have lousy balance in the mud as I got passed by several people while I was trying not to fall. Lousy run time but lots of fun.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank some water and gatorade, got my time, etc. Saw I took 3rd in AG and waited around for the awards but they only gave out awards to first place.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cop directing the wrong way and my inability to run in mud

Nice race! Direction mis-direction is annoying.
