The bike is what it is. Other than eventually investing in clipless pedals and shoes (which will transfer to any bike you get in the future ), you may want to invest in a new saddle if that one doesn't work out for you. (although- chances are, you just need to break in your butt )
Sure, you could make a career out of searching for deals on better components and then bolting them on- but none will be a cost effective upgrade.
