Didn't race but congrats on your PR! Compared to some years, those conditions looked pretty nice...

I had an absolute blast. I managed to eat 2 Krispy Kreme donuts, an ice pop, 3 beers, a bloody mary shot and a McDonald's smoothie.

I'd call that a very good day. it was my 2nd PTRR.

I ran a 44:39 according to my watch. Wanted to be faster but I think I overestimated my ability in the summer. Starting from the sub-seed area was the way to go. I'll make sure I have a timed entry every year from here on out. I actually felt I was having a hard time keeping up with most of the other runners who started with me as opposed to the usual dodge and weave around the walkers you get starting further back.

I had a 10K PR and assuming they keep the time standards the same, I can move up a corral for next year. Though if hubby decides to run it, we'll start farther back and party our way through the course.

First 10k, ran a 43. I wanted to be a little faster but I've been resting my stress fractures for the past 4 weeks.

I'm not certain whether I would run for time again in the future or take it easy and enjoy the party on the way.

49 minutes or so. Stopped and had a beer at the whitehall tavern tent and another beer stop. Chatted with a couple friends, sprinted up heartbreak (my fastest mile, lol). All in all a good time. Super humid though, looked like I had just stepped out of the shower when I finished.

Beers at park tavern afterwards also. Good Independence Day

Next year I will be up in "C" so long as they don't change the groupings. This year I was in "L" & I wasted more effort going side to side than forward. I know my time wasn't great, but I have to think that if i was in a group of runners who weren't walking before they even got to Piedmont, I at least wouldn't have to worry about bobbing & weaving.

I was bobbing and weaving in A. It's crowded everywhere, but probably frees up sooner the closer you are to the front but I just use peachtree as a day of fun.

Even in the sub-seeded corral you end up weaving a fair bit unless you take the first mile way too fast. I did mine in 6:02 (yeah, took it out too fast...Even holding back a bit I still got caught up in the opening dash) and people were passing me like crazy, then for the next couple miles I was weaving around those same people.

Others I spoke with had a similar experience in Seeded, Sub-seeded, A, and B.

If your goal was to break an hour then you crushed it. Great job.

Not a PR for me, but felt great about my time considering I could barely walk a few weeks ago. Thanks to Kate, Jess and Allison at Atlanta Sports Medicine PT for whipping my back into shape so I could run it!

I'm going to let you in on how to get faster by doing nothing. Well, not exactly nothing, but you won't have to raise your heart rate, put out 300 watts, or really even break a sweat.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"

The XTERRA off-road triathlons consist of a lake swim, a mountain bike trail ride, and a trail run. I decided to try the AZ Xtreme Desert XTERRA Tri as my 1st off-road triathlon, and my 3rd tri ever.
