I can buy solar recharger for iPods...

My favorite is the use of 2013 Model Year Cars (any bets that the ones are going to be 2014 this season?) when the apocalypse happenned in 2010.

I still don't think Hershel really comprehends what the hell is going on (when he and Carl go out for the berries and they do not eliminate the walker and the other one leaning on the tree. Not a threat, but still just eliminate them.

At this point why do they all not have and carry some sort of sword or machete? It is fine and dandy that they somehow hove an unlimited amount of ammunition, but a bladed weapon would be so much better in close quarters combat. Bullets don't zip thru the walkers?

Ok, so they are in a prison. No one thought , hey how about we figure out a way to lock ourselves IN the cells so we can sleep with some security at night?

Their survival skills are somehow getting worse, I would think they would improve.

At what point does someone show up and call them zombies?!?!?!?

I still really enjoy the show.

We've gone a few episodes and have yet to lose a main character. You know it's coming eventually. Glenn and Hershel seem to be the front runners, along with anyone in the medicine run group. I consider Tyreese a main character now, but not his sister or that army medic guy that's also on the medicine run.

So who ya got? I'm thinking Carol. Just seems like she's prime to be written off at this point.

I'm with you on Carol, Tyreese might do it too.

20 bux on Maggie.
It's the old bait and switch.
Glen is sick, oh no he's going to die, BAM!! Maggie gets killed.
The only question is how?

That would certainly make good TV if Maggie went. Glenn would probably have an emotional breakdown as it seems he's much more invested in the relationship that she is. Maggie isn't that big a character either. If it were not for her relationship with Glenn, she'd serve no purpose.

I find that FAR more realistic than what the characters used to do. Think about season 1 and 2. Dale drove that piece of crap Winnebago that he was CONSTANTLY having to fix. They were on the highway in Georgia, for crying out loud. How many RV dealerships do you think they passed? Someone else was driving that 80's era Suburban that probably got 8 MPG. Brilliant.

Sure, having brand new model years available when they presumably stop producing over 2 years ago is a stretch. But I consider it poetic license as opposed to having your characters act like complete morons.

I think the gist was that the helicopter had crashed into the roof, thereby weakening it. Or soemthing.

So, does Rick tell the truth or say that carol was killed by walkers. If he says she was killed, chances of her showing up again are 100%.

i was wondering the same thing.  He seemed to give the impression that he was going to tell the truth, but all of the windshield time pondering at the end of the episode made me wonder if he was changing his mind.

I'm guessing he'll tell the truth. He can't say she died because if he does, and she shows up again, nobody will trust him. I bet he tells everybody what she did and why she had to go. But I'm guessing in future episodes she'll be welcomed back.

mr2tony I mostly agree with. I think she will be welcome back with open arms if many of the others turn. If they all get cured they may go "hey she jumped the gun because we are all fine."

my view is most if not all those people will die off from the illness and she will be welcomed back. Heck I can see Daryl going after her. In fact I would not be surprised if Rick does go too because he realized what he has done.

Thought he was going to turn around to go back and get her.

Otherwise...
kind of a boring blah episode.
I get it, they are building up the story, but I'm losing interest.
The red shirt deaths are just kind of dumb. I want main character blood.
Kill Tyrese. Kill Bob. Kill Michone or Maggie. Walkers or the living can do it. I don't care. Just kill somebody.
Meet a new group, argue, war. The illness is cool, but invisible enemies are boring.
Last season Michone pissed me off. Now Rick is dumb. The show isn't even about him anymore.
I also hate that head tilt sideways gait he gets when he talks to people.
Kill Rick.

I don't want them to kill Michone, she's too hot. If they kill her, I stop watching.

No way they kill Michone or Daryl -- too many people would stop watching. I think Herschel or Glenn will go at some point soon - maybe Maggie, too. Honestly, something just needs to happen. I am borrrrred.

I agree. Zzzzzzz.

Has anyone read the graphic novels? I'm wondering how closely the show follows the novels -- or if the writers just appropriated the characters and a few major plot devices/premises.

They kind of set the scene to kill off Maggie or Glen with the first two episodes focusing on their relationship, and as we know once anyone in the show is in love one of them dies. Glen would appear to be in the lead, but I don't know if they'd kill him off via a cold/disease, it wouldn't do his character justice and they've spent so much time in the last 3 seasons building him up from this scared kid to a leader in the group.

I really liked the last two episodes. The 4 of them going on a hunt through the college and Rick and Carroll going out, I liked it when it wasn't focused on the disease and the prison. I like the idea of them needing to leave for supplies and finding new places to go and seeing that giant mob near the college. Overall I like this season so far. I enjoy the travelling aspect of it with everyone out doing stuff, and then the disease factor, which boring, at least makes it tense back at the prison.

I would like it more if the zombie horde kept attacking. Or at least killed someone. I know, morbid, but lets face it, it's a show about the zombpocalypse, there should be lots of bloodshed.
