Really stupid question as I get ready for the Augusta HIM. Does drafting while swimming down current help or not make a difference?

It is not a stupid question. Unless you are planning on entering the water and not moving, just letting the current take you downstream, then get out, you are still moving forward through the water.

So drafting will still give you a benefit because the water in front of you that you have to move through will be churned up from the person you are drafting off (less resistance).

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
