This is an odd pairing, but Gene Simmons and Tim Tebow side by side. He says they are close to signing him, but I wonder how close??

Kiss is the master at marketing, so you think this is real?

Not really. The Heisman is not a "How well will you do in the NFL?" trophy. It's for the best college football player (with an offense bent) of the year.

Trying to compare it to something it's not is unfair to the trophy.

Interesting article in support of the premise that the Heisman runners-up often have better pro careers than the winners.

He could always go back to the SEC. I hear they are paying people to play there now.

Tebow is even less suited to play Arena football than he is to play in the NFL.

I''l invoke Tuesday Morning Quarterback author Gregg Easterbrook:  "The award should be renamed the Heisman Trophy for the Running Back or Quarterback Who Receives the Most Publicity."

In LA?  Maybe once.

Real football couldn't make it in LA and hasn't been able to return no matter how badly the NFL wants to be there.  No way Tebow playing for a team owned by Simmons and Stanley will be able to make an impact.

KISS fans will go to the games because it's KISS (and I'd be one if I lived there), but Tebow won't matter a bit.

If Jacksonville was smart, they'd get him. He'd make a good back-up there (since their starting QB is basically a back-up) and they'd sell tickets since the dude is from FLA.

The owner is trying to fail so he can move to LA. He's committing short term sabotage. Or they suck that bad; hard to tell for sure.

Didn't work for the Sacramento Kings. I hope the NFL follows suit, I hate owners trying to game the system.

Fair enough....

Then again, if you were really trying to sabotage the Jags, wouldn't you want to go get Tebow?

Just look what his presence did to the Jets.

Except for the guy who actually had a great NFL career: Woodson.

Well he played offense, defense and special teams on a national champoinship team that had 10 of their 12 games nationally televised on either ABC or ESPN.

I suppose touches isn't the right word for it. National exposure would be a better way to put it.

Yes but just like WNBA, it's not like the Arena football league is hurting for viewers.  Hey.. wait a minute.
