Subject: Hello again... Hello everyone,
I'm not exactly new to BT, but I've been gone for a while. Life and two young children got me away from training for over a year, but now my kids are at an age where they can come with me in my training (stroller, etc. ). I'm ready to get back into training and resume my goal of completing an ironman.
Before I stopped training I was on a good pace of increasing distance. I started out at the sprint distance in 2006, then moved up to olympic distance in 2007 before stopping the first time after I got married. I did another sprint distance race in late 2011 before my current break. One of my goals has been to complete all the components of a triathlon before I attempt the distance together. I've completed a half marathon as well as a 100-mile bike ride before so I think I'm up for an IM 70.3. I've committed myself to IM 70.3 Buffalo Lake in Lubbock, Texas on June 29, 2014. That should give me plenty of time to work my way from the couch-to-sprint program (which is an accurate assessment of my current fitness ) through the Olympic-to-HIM bridge just before the race.
It's good to be back and any encouragement/pointers on training with young children is greatly appreciated! |
