OK, so all the male contenders are running, yet we are not seeing the run course, nor watching the women's bike race. how long do we need to see an inactive transition area?

The dual split screen is such a tease.  For the love of Gu, USE THE TECHNOLOGY.

Considering that she made a push and is now slipping off the back again, not real reassuring.

Yes but apparently she can give up 10 minutes and still run everyone on the marathon. That's what I keep hearing.

She better get on it then.  My opinion, she's roasted.

I'm not as certain.  It could be her strategy. They're being fed information about where they stand.  If she's confident she can run 10 minutes faster than her competition, she only needs to come off the bike within less than that.  She may have intentionally backed off to save it for the run.

She's not going to run 10 minutes faster than Kessler

I wouldn't bet on that.

ETA:  They're talking about Rinny right now, saying it looks like she was just sticking to her race strategy.  She definitely can't be ruled out.

Rinny looks insanely loose only seconds into T2.

She sure does. She's run 2:52 before. Most girls ahead of her are 3:00+ runners and Cave's nursing an injury.

It should shape out good but with Kessler's work this year, Rinny is going to have to run a PR to catch her.  I still don't think it's going to happen.

And onto the men, Seby is going to crush this.

Interesting.  What do you think Kessler is capable of running?

Interesting.  What do you think Kessler is capable of running?

More so, what do I think Kessler is able to give up?  I think she can put something up that's no more than 6-8 mins off Rinny which should make it really interesting.  At least if all the talk this year about her run focus holds true.  We will see in a couple hours.  Right now she's running sub 2:50 splits...I don't know the course but that's a bit quick.

This women's race is definitely much more interesting now that Chrissy is done.  I love how they neglect to mention that during all their "OMG the women are racing like the men now!" talk.  Yeah, it's because they aren't all chasing Chrissy from half an hour back.

I only had 6 weeks to prepare, so I pushed myself pretty hard while I was training. After my first figure competition, my trainer had me take a week off just to rest and recoup. Was this needed?

Well the day is finally here. I don't believe a single workout has gone by in these past 9 years where the idea of being at the start line of the Ironman Hawaii didn't creep into my head.
