Subject: Hello I have been on this site for awhile but this is the first time for introductions. 2 years ago I weighed 325.6 lbs. I had bariatric surgery (Jan. 23, 2012 ) and now as of this morning I weigh 174.4. I competed in my first sprint triathlon last year (Aug 3, 2013 ) and reached my 3 goals for the event. Goal #1 was to not die (ha ha ), goal #2 was to finish the race and goal #3 was to do it in less than 2 hours (Finished in 1 hr. 55 min. 31 sec. ). I am hoping to do 3 sprint triathlons this year.
My training has been kind of hit and miss and just thrown together alternating running and biking every other day. I am looking to start seriously training for the longer races and build up to the Ironman Distance over the next 5 years If anyone has training advice for me I would greatly appreciate it.
