Pre-race routine:

Got to the race, set up transition, and then went down to the swim.
Event warmup:

Not too much. They let us get in the water for a couple minutes.

Unfortunately, bc of the time penalty, my official swim time is 39:39...
What would you do differently?:

It was a good swim for me; I felt confident and paced myself well. I was 7/16 before the penalty, which I was really happy with.

Well, this is the part of the race that killed me obviously. I got passed by a lot of people in the Championship Division at the beginning. They just had bike speed I couldn't touch. I raced mostly alone for 3/4 of the race, and then our course joined back with the Olympic athletes, and it was ridiculously crowded. I passed probably 50 people, and ended up riding in a "pack". I'd pass on the uphill, and then the guys with the race & disk wheels would pass on the way down. Somewhere in that leapfrogging, I think I must've gotten passed and then immediately passed back, without dropping back. Bam, I find out I got a 4-minute penalty after the race. I'm really mad, but I understand the rule. It just seems random since there was a string of probably 200 people all riding wheel to wheel. I really hate that my race is 4 minutes longer on record!

My split for the run is really messed up, so I have no idea what it is. Rev3 has my results mixed up with my transition time. I was about 8:20/mile, I think.

The race organizers didn't seem ready on Saturday; things seemed very last minute. It's not a bad race, but I think it's my last time in Knoxville with Rev3.

The start of the race I had the jitters. I was watching the other age groups start as they seeded the swim with over 1000 participants.
